Lets talk about grocery shopping. I came across a thread from last year.
How do you grocery shop now? A lot of you replied you used a carrier back then when they were a newborn.
Update us about grocery shopping trips and how do they go now that they are one and not a newborn:

This is what I said:
When I go with both kids I put DS in the Ergo carrier because he will usually fall asleep right away; it also gives me room in the cart. I take DD to the potty before we even start. I bring a snack and juice for her to eat while we shop. I also usually bring one of her little electronic games and/or a book. This keeps her entertained for the most part. I have had to stop mid way through and feed the baby or take DD to the potty.
I also arrange my list in the order I shop. For example, eggs, milk, butter are all next to each other in the store so they are listed together on my list. This saves me from getting two rows down and realizing I forgot something.
Whenever I can I try to leave the kids with my DH. Wal Mart is open 24 hours so sometimes I end up doing my shopping at 10pm. But DH is away for work a lot so shopping kid free doesn't happen that often.
Not much has changed. Now I just pack extra snacks for C and I stick to grocery stores that have a spot for two kids in the cart. Giant and BJ's has a cart with two seats in the front of the basket and Wal Mart has enough seats on some of their carts for 3 kids. I still try to shop when I can leave the kids with DH though. I enjoy my alone time when I'm shopping. I like to look at all the stuff in the store and just take my good ole time.

I took them by myself that first time and havent done it alone since
Dh gets paid bi-weekly so we only grocery shop 2x a month so they are BIG trips. I just cant entertain them by myself for 3 hours while I grocery shop, mess with coupons, and go from store to store.
I do just fine going here and there, like target, the mall, and run into the grocery for a few things for dinner , but I can not do a big grocery trip by myself (yes, no confidence to try it again)
Dh either comes with me to help entertain or here recently I've been going by myself which is much much easier. When they all come, I make sure they are fed, and changed/potty before we leave, and I bring snacks for Kaileigh. Kaileigh sits in the front, and Kaitlyn walks holding onto the cart and she helps get things and put them in the cart.

Our nanny does 95% of the grocery shopping for us. She appreciates the chance to get out of the house I and appreciate getting it off of my to-do list.
When I do go, I used the Ergo. Juliana's perfectly happen in there and she loves to look at all of the people. Our nanny uses the Ergo, too. I don't know how I'd do it with two.

I used to just go once a month But then G got older and I started going bi-weekly...but now we are trying to eat more fresh produce so I go every week. I found an awesome Amish stand off a long dirt road by my house and they have melons 3 for $1 and corn $2 a dozen!!! Super cheap...so I stop there every friday morning when the kids are with me but they just stay in the car when I walk the 3 steps to the stand to get the produce. Friday after DH gets home I do my regular shopping. It is so much easier without the kids because I have 3 different places I go so I can keep the cost down.

I take the kids normally not by choice though. I love going grocery shopping alone. When they do go Londy's in the cart and Caden is on the outside holding the cart. I make sure all the conditions are right before going (feed, not tired and bathroom break prior). I never go to the grocery store around 5 pm or the first of the month. My fav time is to go around midnight or 6 am! Lol but w/o the kiddos.

Vincent almost always goes with me when I go grocery shopping. He usually just sits in the basket but I make sure I have my Baby K'tan because sometimes he just wants to be carried.

I always take Aidyen with me. He will usually sit in the cart. If it's a big shopping trip then I wait until hubbys day off and we go together so he can help me with Aidyen, or I'll go when my 11yr old gets out of school.

I use my Ergo a lot now, and I was using the stupid basket cover thing that I HAD to order off of Etsy.....but that thing is such a hassle. I still use it sometimes but sometimes I just forget....I want to try some of these - Amazon.com: Shopper Topper: Shopping Cart Handle Covers: Dora the Explorer 100 Pack: Baby - but think I would end up forgetting about those too, lol

We normally go once a week and put Aaron in the basket. He's always really good during the trips (we make sure to feed him before we go); our only issue lately is that he's starting to get really grabby.

I just put her in the shopping cart. I have to bring snacks and the other day she was screaming for a banana so I gave it to her even though I swore I would never be "that mom" who feeds their kids before the checkout.
I bought a shopping cart cover but now that she is bigger I don't use it anymore. Hubby busts it out sometimes for sanitary reasons but its just too much of a hassle for me now.

Bella in the cart seat, Eli in the Ergo, and Tyrael walking along side. I cheat and let them eat popcorn chicken in Wal-mart.

During the summer, Emily and I would go early (like 7am, when it wasn't crowded), but if dh was home, I would go alone. Now that I'm headed back to work, I will go prob Sunday morning by myself.

What I answered last time:
I have found that with my big kid (Sarah Beth is 4), I can make a "list" for her. I print a list with pictures on it of things we need with the word beside it. Not everything is on there, obviously, but a lot of it is. And then she can "help" by "finding" those things. Daniel is usually in his carrier or in a wrap on me. I only go shopping without Lil Buddy (when he is at therapy or at home with DH) because he just vocalizes through the store and things like shopping carts with wobbly wheels sets him off (sensory issues).
Generally, the more involved Sarah Beth can be, then the more she a great help and not bad at all.
However, I really try to go "big" shopping on days when DH can watch all the kids. I like to coupon and I can't just go to one store when I do that.
I still do this fairly the same except I put Daniel in the cart now. I still go as much as I can without any of them, though.
We grocery shop once a month and as VERY LITTLE as possible in between. I do go out each week and get a few coupon items that are really good deals, but nothing more. Those short grab an item on sale with a coupon trips are the only ones I take the kids with me on. The big day I try to plan without them.
