I nursed Bishop till he was 9 months old. He has been on formula since then.

Lately we have noticed he's started eating less. He was taking 4 bottles (sometimes 5) of 7oz. The past two to three days we've made that amount and it came back with 2-3oz left and he didn't want it. I didn't force him to take it and neither did my husband.

Yes this is my 3rd kid but hey, I'm still human haha. Is it normal to wean himself like this? My older boys we stopped formula at 1 and they had no problems but they never took less per feeding.

Ideas on what I should do? We are going to introduce whole milk today.

At this age they are learning SO much and I honestly think they would rather be doing other things. With his big brothers running around playing, he probably just wants to join in on the fun and sitting down to drink a bottle is the last thing he wants to do.

Alivia went through lots of stages of this. We would make 6oz bottles, she would drain them, so we bumped her up to 8oz and then she wouldn't even drink 6oz. Now she's back up to the 8oz, but she takes her time drinking them. She'll play, come back and have some more, repeat until it's gone.

Introducing whole milk might be a good idea for him since it can last longer than the 1 hour bottle of formula and as long as he's eating pretty good, it shouldn't be a big deal to switch him if he prefers the milk better.

He has been yes, but he's even been doing this at his night time bottle where it's been hours since solids.

He may just be full from dinner and tired after a long day of playing and driving mommy crazy. Sarah hardly wants anything after dinner until she nurses somewhere between 9pm and 1am. It makes sense though, when you think about it. You have your dinner and you're full, satisfied, and ready to wind down and relax. Unless you're used to snacking you don't necessarily go looking for something.

Yes Miranda has been drinkiing less too. She takes about 8oz in the morning then only has like 3-4 oz bottles throughout the day, unless she's really hungry.

The paperwork the pediatrician gave me at Ellie's 12 month appointment this morning said that since in the 2nd year they aren't growing as much in as in the 1st year, that appetite might decrease some and not to be worried about it.

Rosie goes through stages. Her morning bottle is still 8 oz. her afternoon ones are in the sippy cup and its 4 oz of formula with 2-4 oz of whole milk. She may or may not finish them. She will carry it around and play and drink as she wishes. And then she will take 6-8oz of formula/whole milk mixture before bed.
She also always has a sippy cup of water throughout the day to drink and she is eating 3 meals a day now. But I noticed it really depends on the day with her on how much she will actually drink.

Do you think I should introduce milk more? Well we haven't started with it yet but are going to.

I feel dumb asking this but I honestly don't remember what I did with my other two haha

He has started taking his sippy with water in it

Tommy has been weening himself more lately too, I think it has to do with him wanting more solids. I haven't started milk yet either, I think I am going to wait until after the move and start milk and wean off the bottle.
