Haha, this goes along with Mariah's post...seems like Juliana and Arie got together and decided to surprise their mommies by being "easy" for once...
Ok, so the long-talked about plan (lol to quote my sister, "I see your mouth moving, but I don't see any doing") of moving Arie into her own bedroom is approaching...the goal is to move her in when we get back from our2-week trip to the in-laws on 9/10. Well, it suddenly dawned upon me that there are many things that need to be dealt with here, especially her tendency to wake up at night for a bottle. I'm hoping she will sleep better in her own space (and I think she will, at least eventually) but she needs to break that association.
I've been giving her super watered-down formula when she wakes up at night...tonight I'm just going to give straight water, well at least until I break down, but I need sleep too you know

, I know she'll probably be up quite a bit and fuss but after a few days she should figure its not worth it. But I've been bad and giving her a bottle right before her naps and bedtime because I know it works. Yes, I'm super slow, I know I should have done this many months ago!
Before her nap this morning I gave her formula in a sippy but she only took a few sips. Finally I put the rest in a bottle and fed it to her, but I'm going to start offering in a sippy every day first. She drinks water out of sippys all the time, but she needs to start drinking her formula too (I'm holding off on reintroducing milk until I get her settled in her room). Then at bedtime instead of giving her a bath then a bottle, I gave her a bottle, then a bath. I know, sounds like nothing but for us, this was huge. Afterwards she was really hard to settle, but I don't think she was aware of the change. She was like on a sugar high or something, not in a bad mood (thank goodness) but just silly and playing for quite a bit longer than she usually does. Eventually she just fell asleep. Usually she is asleep by 8:30, today she was asleep by 9.
So yeah, like I said, doesn't sound like much, but I'm super excited. Really really going to try to break the night bottles as much as I can, then tackle the room, then tackle the milk issue. Wish me luck!
