I started giving Aidyen whole milk a couple days a week. I put it in a sippy and he drank about 1/2 of it and really seemed to like it. I only started it because I wanted a break and was hoping by giving him a little milk he wouldn't nurse every 15 minutes ALL DAY LONG! Well after I gave it to him the next days he had really sticky poop, and he pooped 2x in one day since then. He usually only poops every 2-3 days. Yesterday he had diarrhea pretty bad. I wonder if its from the milk. He seems a little more fussy than usual but nothing really noticeable. I gave him goat milk before and he did okay with it but I felt like we wasted alot of it because he would only drink a little at a time, and its soooo expensive. Maybe I should just go back to the goat's milk??

It doesn't sound like a milk allergy/sensitivity, but i'm no doctor. I wonder if it could be more of a lactose intolerance. Let us know what your doctor says. I wouldn't give up on milk just yet, unless he is in obvious distress. Poops can change b/c the milk is different. If he is irritable and crying, and obviously gassy and not sleeping well and producing mucousy stools, then I would be more suited to think it was a milk allergy. I'm just speaking with experience on my 2 1/2yr old DD that had a pretty nasty milk allergy until she was about 2. She still gets an irritated tummy if she eats a yogurt or a whole bowl of cereal, but has outgrown it for the most part.
Let us know what your pedi thinks. I'd be curious.

Do you drink milk and stuff? If so, I doubt he's really allergic to it sense he has really had it forever, you know? However, if he is having that diarrhea every time you give it to him, it might just be a sensitivity. If he does better with goat's milk, I'd just stick with it for a while.

Aidyen sounds like Juliana. Maybe try almond milk. It's not very expensive and it's what my pedi recommended since she's sensitive to cow's milk protein.

Kaileigh has a milk allergy (as does my oldest).
Kaileigh began vomiting and massive diarrhea about an hour after drinking it. She instantly got a diaper rash from it. She just cant tolerate it.
I tried a few different times and finally she's just on soy.

I don't drink milk at all. I eat alot of dairy though. Aidyen eats yogurt, cheese and other things that have dairy in it and does fine. I gave him milk yesterday and today he's already had diarrhea 2x. I think I'll give the goats milk another try and if that' becomes an issue maybe I'll try soy or lactose free milk?

From what I understand there is a difference between milk protein sensitivity and lactose intolerance. You can have on or the other, or both. Babies tend to have milk protein sensitivity more often that lactose intolerance, and usually grow out of it by 2.
There are also various degrees of milk protein sensitivity. Juliana has it but I never noticed until I gave her yogurt and it became obvious because she was up crying from 3-5 am and couldn't go back to sleep. Then I decided to take the dairy out of my diet and see what happened. She slept better and had less gas/tummy pain. Just a couple of weeks ago I started adding dairy back into my diet, which she tolerated, so now we're giving her about 1 oz of yogurt. I have noticed more gas and looser stool, so I'm going to try just giving her 1 oz of yogurt every other day and see how that goes.
