I need to buy a new camera and I really need help finding a good one. I don't need an SLR, just a simple point and shoot will do. I just want something that will take clear pictures, have a quick shutter speed (I don't want to have to wait forever between pictures), doesn't cost too much money, and won't take a year to learn how to use. I'm only using it to take pictures of the kids. Do you have a point and shoot that you like? I have been through several the past two years and have yet to find one I love. Right now I have a Casio EX-Z35and I have to take 3 pictures to get 1 clear one.

I just have a sony cyber shot. Nothing fancy at all but takes good "in-motion" pictures which I needed with two moving kids... LOL

One of my really good friends has an Olympus Point & Shoot that's waterproof (Go to BestBuy.com and type in "Waterproof camera") I would link it but there are lots of colors to choose from! it's awesome, it does panoramic pictures and video....it can go pretty deep underwater too.

Before I got my SLR, all I used was Sony Cybershots....because they had pink ones of course!!! haha. They also have the face recognition ones now, that's what I had.

I agree, the Sony Cybershot is a very good point & shoot camera. I have several family members that have one. I have a Nikon, which I hate! I plan on going the SLR route next time I camera shop in part b/c I hate shutter delays & would like to have more control over the settings, etc.
