let's talk about throwing. Leah throws everything (cell phone, sippy cup, food, toys, shoes, anything), and she thinks it's the funniest thing ever. I know she's probably just going through a little phase, but when we're out eating...it's sooooo not cute, lol! First off, is my baby (excuse me...toddler) the only one doing this, or is she doomed to be a brat? Also, what the heck can I do about this?

Maggie isn't overt about it. In other words, i don't find her to be aggressively throwing things for the sake of throwing them...ehem...yet.

But for the longest time, I ate with one hand firmly holding down her plate, and I have her sippy cup strapped to her high chair at every meal and snack time.

Maggie would rather smoosh your face with her hands or pinch your cheeks than throw. Half of our mess is related to her letting it drop or roll out of her hands in pursuit of the next shiny object.

At mealtimes I would be consistent. If she throws it, she doesn't get it back. This may require some tough love and lots of consistency.

Kaileigh doesnt do it much anymore but she did go through a phase of it. I just say "no throwing" and hand it back to her. Over time I could tell when she was about to do it and I just said "Dont, throw it".

Arie has started dropping things into the tub...she has been starting to experiment all around, like the other day she put this little object ( I have no idea what it was, maybe a water bottle cap? lol) under my shirt. So all kinds of random things...

But with food, when she is done, she will drop it to the floor...same with her sippy. I don't like it, but better than throwing! Maybe Leah will have a great softball pitching arm!

Eli only throws food when he's done eating, so I know that's the end of his meal time. LOL! He LOVES to throw a ball and we've taught him to kick it too, so he mostly just throws balls. He'll occasionally throw other hard toys though, so we have to be aware or we get clocked. Ouch! Don't think he's not a good shot either! Haha!

Ty has been throwing things for quite a while now. Mostly its from his high chair and stroller. He loves to throw things, then look at them lying there, then say "ought oh" and wait for us to pick them up. He also throw balls all day long. His favorite thing is to play ball. He plays by himself, as he throws it then goes to get it and does it over and over. Its super cute!

Jr throws things too. He does throw his cup and spoon at mealtime(though he's getting better about this), but he especially loves throwing things at you... I suppose it's all about the reaction, although I can also tell lately he's testing my consistancy to see if I'm going to let him get away with stuff. I just tell him no, and if he continues I take it away.

Vincent doesn't throw anything yet. He drops his sippy cup and food from his high chair or drops things off the changing table during a diaper change but no throwing yet.

Yes food and sippy cups, and telling her no just makes her throw it more. If we try to hand it back to her and she really doesn't want it, she will rip it from our hands and throw it even harder!

Toby likes to throw things, especially off his high chair. He thinks its hilarious. At first I'd pick it up and say no throwing and put it back. Now I just leave it where it is and say oh dear all gone. He doesn't like that so I'm hoping it will stop him!

I can breathe a sigh of relief Leah does this exactly! We're going to have our hands really full...

Owen is a thrower. (Is that even a word? LOL) He throws his sippy cup, food, and just about anything else that touches his hands. I hope it's just a phase!
