So it appears that despite her occassional pickiness, Maggie has developed my love of all things food.

Friday, when we were out for sushi, she ate a whole spring roll. In it's entirety. She wouldn't even let me cut it up for her, she had to hold the whole darn thing. Ate it all. Like seriously, not even wreckage in the bib. It was devoured entirely to my own dismay. It went down like a stick through a wood chipper. She eats bananas in much the same fashion. It's there one moment and completely gone the next.

I took her grocery shopping on Saturday morning and all through the produce aisles, she was singing "num, num, num". Even bribing her with a grape here, an olive there, and a blueberry here did nothing to dissuade her desire to hold and nom on everything there. What a trip!

I made a picnic lunch for our playdate when we got home, and she was trying to climb up me while I prepared our sandwiches and other snacks (couscous salad with apples and almonds, sliced pear, yogurt covered raisins and cheese and crackers). I assume this was to get at the food I was handling, and NOT because she wanted time with me. Again, bribing her with grapes and raisins and cheese helped, but daddy had to hold her firmly to keep her from tripping me up.

She grazed throughout the picnic but ate wonderfully at supper. She ate almost her whole plate of ham, carrots and potatoes. Even had some blueberries and a bit of cupcake for dessert.

Then this morning, she was watching the news with us while we got ourselves woken up enough to go down and make her breakfast when a commercial for a new line of toddler food came on the screen. It's all prepackaged boxes etc, and otherwise unrecognizable from anything else in a jar or a box, but she pointed to the tv and sang again "num, num, num".

This kid is like a goat! DH swears she would eat a license plate if he gave it to her. LOL. You would swear I never fed her!!

Great job Maggie! Sounds just like mine. I have a friend who always says "My teenage boys eat more then anyone I know" but seriously my tiny kids would eat every hour a full course meal if I made it for them. Kaitlyn can eat her entire dinner and 30 minutes later tell me she is "starving" and Kaileigh will bring me foods she gets out of the cabinet when she is hungry. Sometimes I think my kids eat more then me.

I sure wish I had their metabolism. I forget is Maggie on the smaller side or average?

Ahhhh! I'm so jealous. I really wish I could just feed Sydney anything -- I'm so scared to feed her anything b/c of the egg/peanut allergies. I wouldn't dare even let her eat out at a restaurant at this point (even though she has in the past -- but now that I know of the allergies, I don't trust any places).

I hear ya on the banana thing -- she inhales bananas!

Maggie is teeny weeny. She weighed 18lbs 5 ozs at her follow up appt in the hospital. I wish I had her metabolism too. Believe me, I'd give my right arm for even a fraction of her metabolic rate.

Yeah my boys are like human dustbins. All 3 of them. In fact the worst is Caspar and he is a midget! You'd think I starve him but he is such a pig. There isn't even any foods I can think of that they won't eat. They just love to eat!

ETA: If I give Toby a banana, he can literally eat the entire thing whole in about 5 seconds. He will just push it into his mouth until its all in. Sometimes I forget to give it to him broken up and have to grab it off him before he does it incase he chokes!

That is so funny!!!
Hunter has a good appetite, but I'm the one holding him back. I read that you give Maggie raisins and I wish I was that brave!!! The funny thing is that now and then he'll get a snack or scrap off of London and eat it with no issues before I can get to him, but I'm too nervous to try it myself! haha, kids!

Maggie is just so teeny too! Where is she putting it all? Must be those lil walking legs that have her burning up all that energy.
