When do you plan to switch your LO out of the crib (or parents bed) and to a toddler bed or twin/full.
When did you do it with previous children?

I plan to do it when she starts trying to climb out of her crib. She doesn't seem too unhappy with it as it is right now though. I'm ok keeping her jailed up as long as I can! LOL

Yep..ditto Becky. I am in no hurry because from previous experiences once she knows she can get out and can it all goes down hill from there! lol.... With Caden he never tried to climb out so I started at 2. I thought he was ready, but he wasn't. He would get out the bed and bang on the baby gate to get out. He broke a couple of baby gates...haha.. So I put him back in the crib until he was 2 1/2...CRAZY I know, but when he turned 2 1/2 he stayed in the bed with no problems.

LOL! My sister just barely moved my niece (who is four) out of her crib because she never fussed to get out of it. How's that for crazy, Shantel!?
Around two and a half would be the ideal age, but Bella started flipping out of her crib at about eighteen months, so she was out then. Tyrael stayed in till she was maybe close to three. I can't remember.

Kaitlyn climbed OUT of her crib somewhere around 16 months so we put her in a toddler bed. It was rough at first but she slowly got used to it. Then about 4 months later she hated and would get up and sleep on the floor. Our other room was a spare room with a twin bed in there and the computer. She used to go in there to nap while I was on the computer, and then I just moved that into her bed and she she was in a twin bed with a rail by about 20 months and she loved her twin bed so much more then the tiny toddler bed.
Kaileigh tries to climb into her crib now but hasnt tried getting out (that I know of). So as soon as I see her climbing out, she will go in a toddler bed. If that doesnt happen I will probably try the toddler bed around 18 months and if it doesnt work Ill put her back in the crib and try again later.

Not for a very long time! I got excited and moved Riley at 1.5, worst decision ever. Sierra stayed in hers until she was 3 and it was a super easy transition! I plan to do the same with M. Sierra is in a toddler bed right now and she's so tiny that shell be totally ok to sleep in it for a couple years. Then, since the girls share a room, we will get them either a day bed with a trundle, a larger bed (queen prob) or bunk beds (last choice)

LOL, my son is 4 (will be 5 in April) and I'm not planning to move him any time soon. He likes the crib, so we don't push it. Of course, he is a little special. Daniel has his own crib too, and I'll just leave him in it as long as he isn't crawling out. It'll convert to a toddler bed (just take off the front railings) and he'll go to that until he is too big for it or we get the urge to move our bigger boy into a regular bed... then we'll put the bunkbeds in their room. We'll keep them separate (so they are both on the floor, no top bunk yet) until Daniel is 4 or 5 and can sleep on the top just fine and then we'll put them back together. It'll be a LONG process of getting them into beds.
Sarah Beth I transitioned at like 18 months just because I thought we would have another baby and need the crib soon. But she did fine. We put the twin mattress on her floor and she slept on that for about 3-5 months or so and then we put it onto her twin bed and she never looked back.

In 10 days!! To a twin mattress on the floor. I put magic bumpers on it- I hope the transition is easy enough. But I'm planning on keeping the next kid in a crib until they are at least 2.

When she starts climbing out. Her sister was about 2 or 3, but she was more pliable and patient, so we didn't have to worry about her escaping.
We have a bunk bed, but I worry about it now because LO seems so adventurous and I have no clue how to keep her from climbing the ladder.

Aidyen sleeps in our Cal King bed and there's still not enough room! I need my bed back We'll probably get him a cute toddler bedroom set for Christmas and probably try to move him into his own room around 18 months?? I'm still not sure. Our son Raven slept in our bed until he was 5 or 6

Keira was 2 when we had her in a twin. She was so easy though...never wandered around and I trusted her to stay in bed.
Kaila is going to be 3 in November and I have no plans to move her out of the crib. I have visions of her roaming the house while we're all sleeping and trying to get into some crazy mischief. She's just that kind of kid! She honestly loves her crib, still fits in it comfortably, and never trys to climb out.
Kellen is up in the air. It will depend if he develops a personality more like Keira or Kaila. I think you know when you know...

Jasmine was in her crib til 14mo. DH was scared she was going to fall out when he saw her try to climb. She was actually scared to get out of the toddler bed! So that was easy. We got her full bed when we found out we were pregnant. I think desi will be in it for a while. she hasnt showed any signs of climbing out.

I'm in no rush to move her. I feel like things have moved so quickly already -- moving her out of the crib will just signal even more she isn't a baby anymore. I'll just play it by ear.

I'm in no rush to move Sophie either. Her crib isn't even at the lowest setting and there's absolutely no way she could climb out---but we're actually moving it to the lowest one this weekend.
I guess we'll move her when we have another baby? That won't be at least until she's closer to 3. Originally I thought when we got our nursery set it would always be Sophie's but I think it would make more sense if we bought her a new "big girl room" when we had a new baby.

I think in moving to big kids bed, it would be a good transition period that you should consider. There are a lot of good factors that you might consider in this one. I just hope that everything would work out well for the long run in this one. Try to get your kid's attention first and then everything would follow.

He'll be in his crib as long as possible.
Ollie was put in a bed at 2 but only because his mum did it and we didnt want to confuse him.

When they start climbing out on a regular basis. Usually about 2 1/2. We have a convertible crib, so that'll be the next step, then bunk beds with big brother after the potty training is over (that's 2 years away, though).
