So, Maggie used to love her baths. It was wonderful to see how much fun she had in the bath.
Out of a need for speed, I also introduced her to the shower with me, while I'm holding her. She loved the shower as much as the baths, and I thought, hey this is fantastic! Now she'll love both. She took swimming lessons with the nanny, and I had her in a pool a few times this summer, and she loved it! My little water baby.
Except now, when I try to put her in the bath, it's an all out screaming session. She stands up, won't sit down, hates it, and screams like I'm torturing her. With me back at work, and with it looking like DH will be back to work soon, I'd like to get her back to enjoying her bath times so that it can become part of our evening routines. I'm stupefied at her dislike of the bath now. Last night I even tried the tub crayons - she has plenty of toys that she used to enjoy playing with...but none of it seems to be enticing her enough to stay put. Help? I need ideas?

It really just sounds like a phase to me. I really think it will pass quickly if you keep doing what your doing. Does giving her a shower do the job? Does she like it? If so I would just give her showers until this passes. I wouldn't force her to take a bath though.

Tough spot. Hunter doesn't want to sit still either, but still seems to love to splash around when I can finally get him into it.
I wonder if it's the fact that they're walking. Maybe they just don't like to be tied down! LOL

Have you tried getting in with her? Maybe she just wants to be with Mommy!

DH tried to get in with her (shorts on) so I could clean her and he could hang on and try to distract her. Suffice to say it didn't really work well either. If he was holding her, she was better.
I don't know what to do honestly. I can get in there with her, but I'm not sure it'll make much difference. I'm thinking I may even try taking her old inflatable tub down to the kitchen and bathing her like I did when she was an infant. Then part of me thinks "is it so awful she likes the shower instead?" uggh. I guess I'm just not used to battling with her over things. She's definitely a kid with her own mind, but she's been pretty agreeable up until now.

I am sorry I have no advice but I do agree its probably a passing phase.
This is how we have bathed Ty all summer outside in his baby bath in our yard! He loves it!

I'd just go with the showers until the phase passes. I agree with Tarrah that it's probably because Maggie's walking now and so darn busy. I'm dealing with it with Eli too, but in other areas of his life. I swear, the kid is running me ragged!

For the record I also thought it was cute...I think I'd have even less luck keeping her in the tub outside...I'm thinking a hose is not a bad idea though! LOL
