The plan was Josh was going to get snipped after this one. And I was going back and forth but decided for a few reasons that its probably a good idea. But then we discussed that in the event I end up in a c section then I would just get my tubes tied since they are in there already. So I went through the consult and all that.

Well now he is going going wait no that is to final. What if we aren't truly done.

I do not want another back to back pregnancy. I can't do it my body can't handle it. So I would want at the min. a 2 year break. That would put me over 30. I truly am not sure if I want to have kids past 30 type thing.

I will not do the pill due to how it messed me up last time so hormone types are pretty much out for me. I do not want to waste money on condoms and charting well no desire to do that every again.

I was looking at the copper IUD since it lasts a while and non hormonal. And seems to be the best route for us.

Anyone have it? Like it, don't like it?

Are there other methods out there that I am not thinking of?

I have Implanon and I love it. Worry free and don't have to worry about it for 3 years.

Here's the link.

I think an IUD sounds like a good option for you, I think they can stay in for up to 5 years so that gives you lots of time to either decide you are done, and do something permanent.

I dont have any experience with any BC other than the pill but once we decide we are done having children, im planning to either go back on the pill or get an IUD.

I think a non-hormonal IUD is the best non-hormonal, not completely permanent option out there. I can't think of anything else that would work for you.

I had the Mirena IUD before Claire, and I think an IUD is a great option! Mine was covered by insurance and once it was in, I didn't have to give it a second thought. I did think that I occasionally felt pain from the IUD when we were having sex, but it wasn't all the time, and we would just change positions.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Yeah I keep going back to the IUD. Just never had to think about this stuff before. So want to look at all my options.

With the mirena isn't that hormonal? How did you notice your period being?

see anything you might try? there are some barrier methods there that don't have hormones, yet they aren't as "in there" as an IUD. I thought about the IUD, but I was afraid to try it because it isn't like a pill or a cervical cap that you can just stop using on your own if you don't like it, you have to actually go to the doctor to have it removed. lots of people love having it, but I am a chicken LOL!

I have my 2nd mirena IUD. I got my first after I had my oldest son. I had my first in for 17 months before we tried for Dane, I only had 5 periods in those 17 months. THey were all normal like.

I have it again and have had periods every month. They are normal for about 3 days and then trickle off to nothing. I like that, my regular periods before were heavy and would last for 7+ days. I decided against the copper because the nurse I spoke to told me if I had bad periods before, it could make them worse. I've had nothing but a good experience with my mirena.

I have the Mirena IUD. I haven't had a period yet. I think breastfeeding combined with the IUD has just kept my period from coming. If you are looking for non-hormonal, the copper is your best bet probably. You can have it for 10 years. I've had two friends that had the copper IUD. One hasn't had her period yet but she is breastfeeding and her son is 6 months old. The other friend had the copper IUD before and she said her periods were heavier and longer.

I'm sorry, I am no help. I'm on the Seasonale pill which is a 90 day pill. But that's hormonal. It works great for me and I only have AF 4 times a year.

I only went with an IUD because I was nervous to take the pill. Mainly because of having to remember to do it daily, I would be afraid I'd slip up and forget and BAM. I'm pregnant again haha. It would be just my luck.

I am afraid to do hormonal again just because of how bad the pill messed me up. I had always been irregular but then then I went on the pill to regulate it and then after I stopped I went years without a period. At least prior to that I at least getting a few a year.

With breastfeeding and having a IUD do you guys notice it shifting at all?

Lori I am nervous as well. I just do not want to end up pregnant again back to back..lol So knowing me I will forget the pill and all that so it needs to be more of put it in and forget about it type thing..lol

I can't speak for supply issues because I have those without BC. But, I couldn't tell anymore loss of what I did have and I haven't had any shifting.
