So got a call from daycare today fever of 102 was 101 the previous hour
picked him up took him to the ped under my insistence just to make sure everything was ok
they just wanted the nurse to call me, no thanks
so checked him said prob just cold/flu
now my question to you ladies is
they said dont worry about the highness of it just the inability for medicine to reduce it
at 6pm it was 100.6, gave him tylenol (been alternating tylenol/advil every 3 hours)
just checked it now at 7 and its 101.1
should i be concerned and calling them back or just monitor it
and if it goes up again in a half an hour, call em back
ugh
i hate when my baby is sick
he got the chills about an hour and a half ago and he was just shivering
made me sad

I would wait 30 minutes and if it has gone up again definitely call them. I wouldn't worry about calling and having them think you are just being "silly" or about calling too many times. It's your baby and that's why they have an after hours number .
Hope Liam feels better soon!

I would call again or take him to the emergency room. IMO if tylenol/motrin isn't bringing it down, there is a problem. Holden had super high fevers last week so I feel for you.

I don't have much experience with this but I would definitely call the dr\emergency line and let them know. I agree with Luvgreen, its your baby and who cares if they judge you for calling too often.

Does he have any other symptoms besides the fever? You can give Tylenol and Advil back to back to keep the fever down. Rember that unless he's really miserable it's not a bad thing to let the fever run it's course. Unless it gets dangerously high.
Also watch for a rash. Everytime one of my kids has a high fever for a few days for no reason, they usually have Roseola. The rash shows up the day the fever breaks, 3-4 days after the onset of the fever.
Hope he's doing better today.

I usually don't worry unless I can't keep the fever down or if they last longer than 3 days. I kind of also look if they are tugging at their ears or acting in pain. If they are in pain I'll take them in sooner. You can also rotate Tylenol with Motrin so that way you are giving something more frequently to keep the fever down. Hopefully it's just a virus and will be gone by tomorrow or the next day.

I always let the fever do its job and only give meds if they are miserable or if the fever is super high like 103. It does sound like roseola if there are no other symptoms.

so got a call from daycare at 2:30 with a fever of 104.8
took him back to the dr
still nothing, hes stuffy but thats about it
got his fever down again, she said she didnt like the look of his right ear so hes on amoxicillan for ear infection
he fell asleep on me today watching yo gabba gabba at like 7pm a full hour before his regular bedtime
i just feel so bad for him and want him to be better
at this point its his third day with a fever, we thought he was getting better last and this morning and now its rearing its ugly head
we've been alternating tylenol/advil every three hours
tylenol doesnt work as well as advil for getting the fever down
without the medicine he is downright miserable wimpering crying wont move

Poor Liam.. and poor momma. I hope the amoxicillan kills whatever bug is causing this and Liam hurries up and feels better for both of you!

so fever definitely went away last night
but
woke up every couple of hours, i think with a terrible sore throat - he was taking anything he could to drink, even just warm water (i thought he had WAY to much milk/formula)
was doing good this morning, but hes temp is elevated again to about 100
i wish he would stay better
