Ethan is turning 3 at the end of the month . We are having a pirate themed party for him & he has already told me that he wants cupcakes & balloons. Love the almost 3-year-old mind.

I'm trying to come up with some good party games; all of the kiddos are going to be in the 3-4 age range. I always worry that the games I come up with are going to be too "big" for the kiddos. Any ideas?

I was going to suggest pin the eye patch on the pirate! Also, what if the kids decorated their own cupcakes? Then you could still have a birthday cake, and they can take their own cupcake(s) home.
Also, I love the idea of a scavenger hunt around the house for "pirate booty"!! It would be fun to give them each a map to locate their own loot bag near the end of the party.

My London is turning 3 in 2 months so I'm looking forward to the princess party she has requested! lol

One of our summer play group Mamas did a pirate themed party, it was fantastic, but Harper was a little too young to really "get" it. Some games they had:

Dig for Buried Treasure: Pirate Gold (I think from Oriental Trading?) in a sand box.
Walk the Plank: A board (2x4? Is that what you call them?) from Home Depot to walk across.
Treasure Hunt: She used picture clues for the littles, like a picture of her kitchen table, a picture of her son's bed, etc.
