What is a successful life?

I've been thinking about what a successful life means and how it's changed over the years. WHen I was young, I thought making lots of money was important. My degree has a lot to do with helping others in the world. Now, my idea of a successful life has a lot to do with my family. I'm sure it'll change again when my life stage starts changing again.

What is your idea of a successful life?

Surviving, and being happy day in and day out. Cherishing the little things my family is and does is what matters. Being able to do something with my own hands and my own mind and have it work is success to me, no matter how big or small.

My idea of a successful life has changed, also.

I think I'll consider myself successful if I can manage to balance a career with being the kind of mother I want to be. Of course, a lot of that will have to do with luck and the opportunities that come my way. The measure of success will be how well Juliana turns out.

Financially I don't need to be rich but part of my definition of success is making enough to live quite comfortably. I also need to contribute to that income. Even though I think it's perfectly fine for others to be a SAHM, I know I personally will not be happy in that role.

Another part of success to me is making sure my family is healthy by serving healthy meals and exercising almost daily.

Success used to mean reaching/accomplishing goals in life, but now I just want to be happy. Whatever brings me happiness = success for me. If that means sticking with the job I have now, or quitting for one that makes less money, as long as I'm happy...I don't care.
