Does your LO hit? Miranda will hit me right in the face when she's mad. And she will go and hit Isabelle if they are fighting over toys. I know she's probably picked it up from the other kids, but it drives me nuts. Especially when I'm holding her and she just smacks me.

Claire started doing that recently...I'll be holding her and she'll just reach out and whack me across the face.

Honestly I don't know what to do when she does that. What I have tried is this: I tell her "no, that hurts Mama" the first time and show her how to gently touch my face. If she does it again, I repeat that it hurts me and then go set her down somewhere by herself. The thing she wants most is my attention, so that is what she does not get if she hits. She usually cries a wailing, broken-hearted cry with big tears, but I think it is working...it seems like I had to do it several times a day last week, but I did not have to do that even one time over the weekend!

Ross hits, but for the most part i think its just out of excitement, or to get a reaction, hes never seen anyone hit in anger so i dont think thats why he does it.

we try to redirect him, or say things like "gentle hands" "no thank you, we dont hit" or "that hurts Mommy/Daddy/Dexter (pet bunny)" if we use a stern voice he usually looks upset and cries so maybe hes remorseful, or he just doesnt like being "in trouble" either way i think its working, he is hitting less than he used to

Arielle thinks it's a game to hit me. She will say Ow and then smack me. I guess it is from telling her don't give Mama an owie when she first did it. I haven't seen her do it in anger yet.

Tommy does it too, as well as hair pulling. I try to redirect him for the most part it works for the moment but he does it again later.

Rosie is doing it too. I just say we don't hit, that hurts mommy and if she hits again I put her down and walk away type thing. We do redirect to a point. And her thing is to throw her sippy cup at you so if she does that we take it away.

Must be that age. Funny I don't remember that with the other kids. Maybe I forgot on purpose.
I'll have to be more stern with her when she does it and see if that works. It's so hard cause she's with the babysitter most of the day, so when she's home with me I want to hold her all the time and cuddle.

Holden hits too, and pulls my hair when he's really really mad.

McKenzie hits without even having a motive. The little boy that my mom keeps do not pay her any attention so she hits him to get him to play with her. She wants some kind of feedback lol.

Kinley hits occasionally, but her bigger issue is hair-pulling. When she gets upset with big sister she always pulls her hair.
