Hi Ladies,
I took a pregnancy test on Sunday & again on Monday. Sunday it was a really faint line, so I didn't know what to think. Monday the line was still faint, but much more visible. AF was supposed to arrive sat, and I have had light spotting on and off since Sat, and today I have none. I went in for blood work yesterday and I got a call saying my level is at 9, which is really low and they don't think it is a good pregnancy, or possibly a false positive. does anyone have any experience with hcg levels and what they mean??
I am fine either way, this was our first month of TTC, so whatever is God's plan is fine, but I was really excited and now Im kind of down. By the way I spotted for the first 14 weeks during my last pregnancy and everything was fine, so I really didn't worry when I saw spotting this time.

Are they planning a repeat blood draw? I don't know exactly what a "great" # is, but I do know they want your levels to at least double every other day for them to consider it viable.
I believe with Brendan my first draw at 10 days past IUI was a 20 and then when I went back 2 days later it was in the 80's so they were happy.

Yes I am going in tomorrow for another blood draw, so I won't know any more details until Thursday. I will just have to wait and see.

That doesn't sound like a terrible # for as early as you would be. I'm thinking mine was at like 11 the first draw. I can't remember though, it's been too long. Good luck. I hope your next blood draw comes back lots higher!

It doesn't really matter what your number is...just that the number increases appropriately in 48 hours (they look for it to double, but in reality it doesn't have to exactly double to be okay). My first HCG after IVF was 11.8, so yours might be A-Okay!
Good luck, and I'll be thinking about you this week. Being in limbo is definitely the worst feeling.

I will be sending good thoughts your way. If the lines on the test are getting darker, that is probably a good sign.

I know nothing about betas but I can tell you, I had the most super faint of faint tests you can have with Bishop. Good luck, let us know!

Awe, I'd have it rechecked. It sounds like it could be a chemical pregnancy, but really you need a repeat draw to know what is going on. I had 3 early losses with numbers like that, but Natalie's number was only 20 on her first draw as well.

I don't know why they call it a false positive. If you weren't pregnant your hcg would be at 0. The number is not that important, what matters is that it keeps going up (hopefully doubling every 48 hours). The earliest that I got a + on a hpt was with a 8 hcg and it was faint. I hope that your numbers keep on going up but it could very well be a chemical pregnancy. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that you get some great news tomorrow!!!

The nurse called today and said my level went down to 4, so it's a negative result. Last night I took a pregnancy test just to see if there was still a line, and there wasn't, so I was prepared for the phone call. I asked if this was considered a chemical pregnancy and all they could say was "possibly". Every time I asked a question the nurse put me on hold to ask the dr. so I just gave up after the 3rd question, and I told her how ridiculous it is that the dr. cant take a few minutes to talk to me. She said I could make an appt if I want to talk the dr. - can you believe that??

Awww..I'm sorry!! Yes it does sound like a chemical. Dr.s are just too much sometimes. HUGS!!!!
With one of my chemical pregnacies I went to a walk in clinic for a blood draw and then later the dr. told me that with my level 16hcg I wasn't pregnant. WHATEVER!

I'm sorry...I know if must've been hard even if you were expecting that call. It does sound like a chemical to me, and I'm not sure why the nurse couldn't/wouldn't say that.
I hope you get a sticky BFP very soon.
