What is one piece of advice given to you when you were pregnant that stuck and was helpful?

One piece that wasn't?

Helpful: Trust your Mommy gut...you'll know what to do.

NOT Helpful: I was given a book on sleep training and told that it would make my life SO much easier. My Mommy instincts told me that it wasn't the right thing to do...we breastfed and co-slept for the first 8 months

There is not right way to parent follow what feels right, leave what doesn't. and remember babies cry.

Not helpful- Being told that if I leave her cry to eat, go to the bathroom or even take a 5 minute breather that I was neglecting her and going to harm her.

Best- Sleep now, once the baby comes you won't get to sleep (and one year later I AGREE)

Worst- kids don't need schedules, naps are overrated etc. (This came from my friend whose 4 year is a devil child haha)

Best- Mommy-instinct will get you thru anything
Worst- No co-sleeping. Holden slept with me for 7 months, and I loved every second of it.

Helpful- when you are put on bed rest enjoy it! Iwish I would have listened.

Not Helpful- don't hold your baby you will spoil her. Hmm I held McKenzie and she was nowhere near an arm baby!
