How many times have you moved in your life?
Have you moved since you had children?
If so, how did your children adjust to the new home? Did you do anything special to help them make the transition?
This move is kind of stressing me out. I pack one box and one of the kids unpack another one. Any advise on packing with kids would be greatly appreciated.

How many times have you moved in your life? 3! I moved into my dormroom, then I moved into an apartment for a short time. Then I got married and bought our house that we currently stay in.
Have you moved since you had children? NO

How many times have you moved in your life? If you count moving between dorms and apartments I've moved 10 times.
Have you moved since you had children? Yes, this last year was our third move.
If so, how did your children adjust to the new home? Did you do anything special to help them make the transition? All the kids adjusted really well with all the moves. I think it helps if you are excited about it and make it into an adventure. There are things that they miss about our old house and area, but they have found a lot of things here that they like to do as well.

How many times have you moved in your life? I don't know, 5 or 6 times? Most of them because of the military. We're moving again in 7 months too.
Have you moved since you had children? Yeah, we moved in June.
If so, how did your children adjust to the new home? Did you do anything special to help them make the transition? We set up Aaron's room as identical as we could to his old one. It still took him more than a month to really relax and sleep through the night again though.
We went back to the old house once to clean and we put him down to run around and he immediately went to *his* drawer in the kitchen (we kept all of his Tupperware and stuff in there) and cried when it was empty. Broke my heart. I'm not looking forward to moving again.

How many times have you moved in your life? Countless times. I just tried counting on my fingers and got to 11 different schools by 7th grade!
Have you moved since you had children? no
Do you have a large baby gate to cordon off an area for your boxes?

- Once I got out of HS I moved once to my first apartment, then to a bigger apartment in the complex. Then then next year to a different complex (It was cooler, lol), then into a rental house, then I bought my townhouse. (5 times) THEN to Oregon into a house, and then into our house now (2 times)
7 times. I had to count, lol
Last time we moved I was 7 months pregnant and I didn't do a thing. In fact, I went to Texas while Sean and the movers did everything....that's my advice to you...lol (I think Sean would agree since I am bossy when we move, haha)

We moved from MD to KY when I was a toddler. I moved to an apartment when I was 18, then back home a few months later. Then I moved out to another apartment in 2005. Then I moved to a different city for college in 2005 then to a new apartment back home in 2006. Then we moved to Louisville with my parents in 2008. So I guess technically 7 times, but only 3 big moves and only 2 big moves as an adult.

Thanks for the advice. I had Seth get a storage unit so as soon as a box is packed it goes out to the van (we have the third row down). Everyday I take a load, or two, to the storage unit. On the weekends we move the bigger stuff when Seth is here to help.
I'll be glad when this is all over with.
I also keep telling myself, "If I don't pack it I don't have to unpack it". I've taken two full van loads to Goodwill already.

How many times have you moved in your life? Like 10!
Have you moved since you had children? Yes, a couple of times
If so, how did your children adjust to the new home? Did you do anything special to help them make the transition? They adjusted well. I just make sure they have their special items (blankies, stuffed animals, anything they are super attached to). I make sure to get their rooms set up first when we get there. For the older kids I had lots of conversations with them about the new house and took them there several times and got them super excited about it.
Ethan didn't adjust as well as Cadence and Alex (we just spent our first night here Friday night), but he's settling in. Not as bad as I thought he would be. The first night he woke up every hour the first night screaming. But he's slept through the night Sat/Sun and Mon night. He is harder to get to sleep but eh, not as catastrophic as I thought it would be.
Honestly I think my older two kids adjusted better than I did (I HATE change).
As far as packing with kids...DIVIDE AND CONQUER. One of us would pack, the other would watch the kids or take the kids somewhere. If you have friends or family...call them up and USE THEM! Dump the kids on them! You'll get WAYYYYYYYYY much more done WAYYYYYYYYYY quicker. Good luck on the move! It's stressful even w/out kids but it can be done fairly smoothly even with 3 kids under 5 lol!

I loathe moving. I've done it way too many times with kids. The only advice I have to offer is accept any and all help you can get!
How many times have you moved in your life? Since birth, 10 times I think?
Have you moved since you had children? 7 (so the majority of my moves)
If so, how did your children adjust to the new home? Did you do anything special to help them make the transition? My oldest is the only one remembers our other homes. She misses the one we moved from in 2009. It was a bigger house and we had a huge yard. She also misses one of the girls from her daycare (she was 4 when we moved). I just tried to make every move exciting and special and try to get her involved in new activities in the community ASAP so she could make friends, etc. She is doing well now that we're settled for good...except I can't rule out local moves...I kind of crave change!
