How many words does your LO say now?
What word (or words) does your LO say that just melts your heart?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Caleb's vocabulary has exploded in the last week. He went from saying only Da-dee to now saying: Ma-mee, Gee (Grace), Uh Oh, hi, wawa (water), Uggle (snuggle), oh (no), baby. All this in just 1 week!!!!
My favorite is "uggle" for "snuggle". Caleb will hug himself and look at you and say "uggle" when he wants a hug.
Aaron is VERY selective about talking. He can say A LOT but chooses not to; he mostly just parrots us and I don't consider that talking. "all done" is the only thing I hear on a semi-regular basis.
Juliana had a vocabulary explosion around the 12 1/2 month timeframe, and got up to about 20 words. The only new words she's learned since then are "Aw" and "May-May" for her aunt Megan. The "aw" is the one that melts my heart. She I ask for a hug or kiss she gives it to me and I say "aw" and she says it back. I keep waiting for her to have another vocabulary explosion but I guess she must be working on another developmental area.
Sydney says a ton now. She will literally repeat everything we say (or try to). Her new favorite word is "up"..she'll repeat it over and over until we pick her up. We just recently taught her "please"..so now she says "up, peez" over and over.
Leah doesn't have too many words really, and like Aaron she's very picky about what she says. She'll say mama, dada, bus, og (dog), baby, vroom (for a car noise), up (but she hasn't said this one in a while) and she says awww like Juliana, lol. I still love it when she says mama.
London is ok. She doesn't say alot, but I have been really working with her so its going great so far. She can say daddy, caden (aden), bye, hi, hey, uh-oh, stop, one (her age), shoe, baby, ball. The funniest word is 'What". When Caden calls her she will yell "what" Her comprehension shocks me though, she doesn't say alot but if you ask her a question (when she is not ignoring me..ha ha) she understands and does it or she will shake her head 'No" if she doesn't want to do something or you ask her a question and her answer is no.
I've sorta lost track, and I kinda feel bad about that. She is saying mommy, daddy, maggie, puppy, pizza, quack quack quack, chomps like an alligator, uh oh, bunny, up, up please, down, no, yes, Simba, Zuma, Papa, bonk, button, boo, hoots like an owl, what's that, what's this, what's up, love you. And as of today, apparently she's saying bonk when she hits her head or falls down.
She is singing no no no a lot these days and I find it hilarious. It melts my heart when she says her own name.
That's Leah! She understands everything I ask her, but she just doesn't like talking. She has this weird babbling thing that she does. It sounds like Chinese, and she'll carry on with a full conversation (like shrugging her shoulders and stuff, pointing, exclamations, questions) in her crazy babble.
I think it's purely accidental, but who knows. I know DH and I are saying "what's up" all the time...lol We also always say "what's your malfunction?"
Wonder how long it will be before we hear that one asked back to us!?!
Emily doesn't really say a lot either. She has been adding new words this week. She says: dada, jas, dog, duck, apple and turtle (super clearly, it's weird). She won't say simple things like bye, hi, or mama though.
Kellen wants nothing to do with talking. He whines and one of his sisters, my Mom, me, or dh, get him what he wants...lol. Like many of your little ones, he understands everything. I mention things in passing like he's a big kid; like, "push in the chair," or "can you get your shoes?" and he just does it! He is very physical - pulling the cushions off the couch to climb up, walking backwards, jumping with two feet, playing soccer in the kitchen, running like a Flinstone on his bike - he's just soooo active!
His favorite "words" are binky, mama, dada, daddy, cocka (could be a cracker, could be his diaper), thisssy (sissy), ah-done (all done). He also shakes his head yes when you ask him a question.
Not as verbal as the girls were at this stage but that's totally fine with me. I want to keep him a baby forever...haha!
Vincent doesn't really say anything on his own - only if I prompt him. He says doggy, baby, mama, dada, poo poo (or poop), and bye bye. I've also heard him repeat peas, no and yay and I think a few other random things. I can't wait until he starts talking on his own.
And I really don't have a good idea of how much he really understands when we talk to him, either.
