All of my periods (3) since having Suzannah have been CRAZY heavy. I went to bed at 1am last night wearing TWO pads and a tampon. When I got up this morning out of bed, I was bleeding so heavy that blood ran down both sides of my legs. WITH a pad and tampon!

Both pads are saturated and I just dont get it! Before Suzannah they were just average periods...no biggie. Now, I have to not make plans for my period week because the bleeding is so heavy. I thought it was just the first one, but its not!

Is heavy periods like this a sign or symptom of some sort of problem? It has me all freaked out. I had to shower this morning because it was so bad! (I had just showered last night before bed)

WDYT?

Do you have any abnormal cramping or anything? How often are you having to change your pads/tampons? I would really go see your doctor about it in case you have a fibroid or something. That's just too much.

I know, right? Im freaked out about it. No unusual cramping, but before I hd Suzannah they did a colposcopy for an abnormal pap. I also had a large cyst on an ovary that they never followed through about.

I dont have insurance (its $400/mo through my husbands work for a spouse...so I have to go without until I can work. Right now the daycare turned us down to take Suzannah) so I cant go in or anything

Well at the very least make sure you're taking an iron supplement so you don't become anemic with that much bleeding.

Thats a good idea... I just have no clue as to what would make my period change so much. I have a 50-54 day cycle...could that be it?

No, that wouldn't cause that much bleeding. That kind of a change could be endo, adeno, fibroid, cyst, etc. There will be some cause, but long cycles won't be it.

I would definitely get that checked out. That is too much bleeding, IMO. I would look in to a free clinic and see if there's one in your area.

I thought my periods were heavy, but that is just way too much. I wouldn't freak out, but I would worry. Good idea about the iron supplement. Just your cycles being that long means that something is up. I'm not sure what causes that much bleeding, but is there any way you could have been pg? Are you on blood thinners? I hope you can find a way to be seen to put your mind at ease and figure this out.

I agree that sounds like excessive bleeding for a period, and I'd get checked out. Were your cycles that long before Suzannah? And are your cycles consistently 54ish days apart? That's a really long cycle. That with the heavy bleeding should be checked out. I hope you can find a clinic or something. KUP!
