Do you plan your dinners ahead of time or do you try to plan something quick at 5pm? Do you plan them in the morning or the night before or do you have a menu written out for the week?

Do you take your 1 year old into consideration when you plan dinner?

I have 3 menus at this point that we pick from. I try to grocery shop off the menu and sales to save the most money. I do take Rosie into consideration as far as if its soups, spicy and really messy foods. If its a messy food it happens on bath night. But Rosie really is a great eater. Have not found a food she don't like yet and she also loves spicy type foods which is good since we eat a lot of mexican and spicy type foods.

I don't follow the menu exact as to the days so I plan the night before if I have to take something out. If I take hamburger out then I seem to wait till 3pm to decide what we are having unless its a crock pot meal.

I usually plan 2 weeks of meals at a time...I'm a planner and a list-maker and it is just easier for me that way. Since Claire is 1/3 of our family, I definitely take her into consideration. If we're eating something spicy like chili I have an alternate for her to eat, but usually we all eat the same thing.

I used to do a weekly meal plan but then realized I was spending more money based on that than I needed to. So now, every 2 weeks we go to Sams Club and buy meat. Maybe ever 3 weeks pending on deals we get and the amount of meat. Then I look at what I buy meat wise and plan dinners around those. I have stocked up on pasta, we buy veggies fresh and such. So dinners aren't on the fly but they aren't written out like they used to be.

I plan each week's meal the Friday before so I can grocery shop on Saturday. I plan all 3 meals for each day. I absolutely keep Hallie in mind when planning my meals. I make sure she can eat whatever I am fixing. I used to do the last minute cooking but we would end up going to get something or eating something extremely unhealthy.

I really need to get back into meal planning. Right now I pretty much just figure it out at 5:00. It has been really tough lately because the kids are starving as soon as we walk in the door. We like to eat as a family so I've been doing a lot of very quick meals like a salad and turkey burgers. I think I will try and make a plan for the coming week this weekend.

I also need to start getting our freezer emptied out. We would like to split a cow with some friends but I need to make a bunch of room first.

I'm in the same place, across the board. I'm going to go through the meat and plan meals for the week based on what I have and what I need.

ditto the cow too lol.

We don't usually decide on anything until like an hour before dinner (4pm). We're really bad for that.

Our conversations usually go like this:

Me: Hey, what do you want for dinner tonight?
Him: I don't know. What are you feeling like?
Me: I don't know

It goes on like that for a while and then we usually just settle on something that's quick and easy.

We used to write down our meals for the week and I loved it. I would love to start doing that again. We're just lazy haha.

I really need to start doing meal planning. Lately we mostly just graze...rarely do i make a real dinner.

I really like the idea of buying 1/2 or 1/4 of a cow, i hate all the crap that is in store bought meat.
