At this age there is such a HUGE range of normal when it comes to verbal communication. I've had kids at this age that have NO words and babble all day, and I've had one that was starting to form 3-4 word sentences. Cade is in between.....on the babbling end lol.
So how is your LO at communication? Lots of specific words? Psuedo words that mom and dad recognize? Grunts and points? Baby babble?
Anybody have kiddos combining words yet?

Rosie has her words that are very clear but she mainly babbles still at this point. She uses more actions then words. Like when she is all done eating or we say all gone she rubs her hands together.

I think Claire is on the higher end of things...she puts words together like "night night, Mama" and "more cheese please." She started early and just keeps on going!
It's so funny, too, how they can be so far ahead in some aspects and not in others...Claire didn't walk until almost 15 months!

Miranda grunts and uses body language more than actual words. She does have a few, like bye, upas (when she wants to be picked up), cat, mama. I think that's pretty much it. But she definately knows how to cummunicate in other ways and she totally understands what we say to her and will answer accordingly in her own way.
I'm not worried. My oldest also was an early talker and DS mumbled until he was 2. So this is somewhere in between. No doubt once she starts there will be no stopping her.

Isaac doesn't say any real words except uh-oh. He knows several signs and that is mostly how he communicates. He's so different than my daughter. She's always been advanced when it comes to language. She'll be 4 in December and she's reading at a 2nd grade level. But I think Isaac is more advanced with motor skills.

Hallie has several words she can say but only a few ppl really know what she's saying. It sounds like babble to most. She can say "I got it" and "I did it" But unless you know what she's saying you would think she was just rambling baby talk.

Heidi's main words right now are:
"baby"
"momma"
"boobie"
"joey" (her brother)
"dog"
"ewwww"
"bad"
and just now I told her to leave something alone and she said "what? sorry"
But just the past week or so has she been so verbal.. before she would just say things here and there but no consistently.

Ryan doesn't say too much. He babbles and has a lot of expression in his voice like he knows what he is saying. He does say two phrases although they are strung together. He will point and say "what is that" but it sounds more like whatisdat. And then I did it and he will clap when he says that. He also says Dada...no mama yet and no real clear words. He does understand what you ask of him though. When I say where is your truck, he brings me his truck. Same thing with his ball and Elmo toy. He's becoming my little vacuum cleaner

Tommy babbles alot. Some words he does say are dog, lily, mama, dada, ball, I swear he says thank you. My dd had so many words in her vocab at this point. He will point at what he wants and grunt or make some kind of babble sound.

Mama, dada, Cookie (our cat), milk, Bruce (our dog), John Paul, Isis, etc. She doesn't get all of the sounds out exactly, obviously, but you can tell what she means.

Jackson has a lot of words, a lot of them are clear but there are some that only DF and I (and maybe grandma and auntie) understand. He is just starting to string 2 or more words together, his first "sentence" was "bye-bye car" when we pulled out of a parking spot. He can pretty much imitate anything we say, unless it's a really hard word. It amazes me how fast they learn at this age.

Arielle is really amazing me with how fast her vocabulary is growing lately! She is picking up several new words every day and has started with sentences. She babbles/talks constantly lol. Here's her words:
Mama
Dada
Daddy
Doggie
Eat
More
One
Two
Three
A, B, C
Uh-oh
More
Thank you
Potty
Pee Pee
Ewww
Stinky
Bebe
Ball
Apple
Nana- (Cracker)
Mimi (when she wants to nurse)
Night night
No
Yes
Mum mum
Yucky
Shoes
Cow
Kitty
Owie (when she bites you lol)
Nice
And she's gotten to wear she pretty much tries to repeat whatever we say to her. I swear between 3 kids, the only time I don't hear talking is when all 3 are in bed, and that's usually not until midnight.

My LO babbles & grunts alot. He says Dada all day long, and once a while I hear Mama but Im not sure if he really knows what it means. it does make me worry when I read that other kids this age are saying more words. Also if I ask him where is the truck or duck, he doesn't respond to it, so I don't think he gets it yet.
