I tried a fish once. It was a sad and tragic mistake...I didn't have the heart to try the hamster or gerbil...and this was prekid!

We don't now but a fish I can do. The hamster and gerbil not so much! They resemble rats and mice too much!

I had hamsters when I was a teenager. They can be fun, but not something I'd recommend for small children. They can bite if they're not socialized or just feeling grumpy, and they're nocturnal, which means squeaky hamster wheels throughout the night

We recently bought our older daughter a small tank with two fish and a snail. The fish both died shortly after and she was heartbroken, but Sid the snail is still thriving!

We have a betta fish in Owen's room. He's amazed by Phineas. Tells him hello whenever he walks by & enjoys watching him swim.

We also have 2 large dogs. Owen loves his Hannah & Bo.

We have 2 hermit crabs we bought in NC back in July. Desi crabs it like nothing so I have to hold it while she touches it. they are easy to maintain. a tank fish and fresh water every day and a bath once a week for them. we have a boxer that she truly loves! I want to get a betta for the girls room too but not sure how Jas will do with it. I dont want her knocking it down.

Maybe we'll try a little Beta fish. In our new house we have this little landing that Grace likes to hang over and I am always worried she will fall over it which would be horrible because it's a good ways down. I was thinking if I put a tank there it would block it off...

We also have a beta, I'm not really an animal person so it's a great pet for us. Noah pretty much ignores it and Luca points at it and tries to say fish.

I have a guinea pig. The worst thing about those little animals is that you have to clean their cages like every other day and it is a BIG hassel! I don't think I'll have another small animal like that.
