No we don't have one... I would like one but I wouldn't know the first thing about how to care for one. I'd probably burn my house down.

We have an electric one here, we use it at Christmas. We have a gas one at the new place, and will probably use it a bit more often.

We have a real one downstairs that we won't use and an electric one in the attic that if someone will be up there a while we'll turn it on.

No, we don't have one. We had a wood burning one in our last apartment but the only time we used it was during the ice storm, I think. They make me nervous.

we have one but it's non functional. It was wood burning -- when we bought the house the chimney wasn't up to code. We re-did the roof and knocked the chimney down and roofed over it - it was cheaper than redoing the chimney and putting the fireplace up to code. Our eventual goal is to convert it to gas (there's a gas hook-up in it already) but like Liz it's low on our list. for now it's decorative.

We have 2. One in the living room (which is currently a playroom ) and it is gas and we never used it. We also have one in our family room that was gas, but last year my dad and dh changed it over to a tradional fireplace that burns wood. I was missing a real fireplace so bad and glad we have it now.

We have a gas fire place in our living room, and we have never used it. We checked to see if it worked, and that's about it. I think Leah would be too fascinated in it now, and try to mess with it, so it won't be turned on for a long time.
