My father was in the Airforce..all four of his brothers also served. Between them we have every branch covered. My cousin and brother-in-law served. And my personl American hero, My FIL was part of the 1st Cavalry, 1970, Vietnam. Not many of his friends made it home...

As most of you know, I just got out of the Air Force last year after 7 years of service (11 if you count ROTC too). My DH is still active duty. My father was active duty Army, my grandpa was active duty Air Force, and my great grandpa was active duty Army.

In my family we also have covered every branch of the military. Every woman in my family has married a man in the service. I was married for 8 years to my first dh who was in the Army, (honestly being a military wife was some of the best days of my life. my exdh served in both Gulf Wars), my sister was married to 2 Marines, my mom married my dad when he was in the Navy, my Uncle (moms brother) served in Vietnam in the Navy, my paternal grandpa served in the Air Force in WWII, my maternal grandpa served in WWII in the Merchant Marines (he was actually supposed to be at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed but thankfully his ship was called back out to sea the day before, otherwise I wouldnt be here today. I have a photo of him and his captain at Pearl Harbor), my first FIL was Air Force in Vietnam, my now FIL was in the Marines. My family has military service in our country since our country began. (I know this because I have studied genealogy on my family for over a decade). I personally am proud to come from such an extensive military background.
