Anybody do this with their kids?
My mom bought it for the kids and we plan on starting it next year because I think Rosie will be old enough to understand more.

I've heard of it but have never done it. I haven't actually ever seen one, where did she get it from?

I have a friend that does it. I think it's cute, so I'll probably get one for next year. I think this should show you where you can buy them. Elf on the Shelf > Elf Adoption Centers

Never heard of this before your post. I looked at the website but it doesn't really say what it is. What is it exactly?

I"m with Celine....never hear of it and the website doesn't explain it. I'm assuming it's a toy you buy and 'pretend' that he watches the child all year and reports to Santa? Cute idea for the little ones.

Yeah, my friend gets hers out at the end of November. I think it comes with a storybook that explains it to your kids.

Most people bring their Elf out around the end of Nov beginning of Dec. And he moves around the house. So each day the kids will find the elf somewhere else. And he is mischievous
Some ideas I have seen are snow angles on the table done in flour, hanging in the christmas tree lights on the tree, crashed barbie car into the presents. hiding in the freezer(missed the north pole weather).

I had never heard of this until someone posted something on facebook yesterday. I don't think this is something we would do, since we don't really teach our kids about Santa. Not that my oldest hasn't learned about it from movies/shows/friends, but we just don't tell her about it.
