For those of you who do Santa, will all your gifts be from Santa and a few from you? Or will you do one from Santa and the rest from you?

We do santa and normally the "big" gift from us is from Santa. So one to two things. The rest are from us.

I've been doing the opposite, one thing from us and the rest from santa.

That is how we do it Lori, My friend does it the other way. Now that my dd catches on I wish I did it the other way because it is so much easier to hide one gift.

We haven't really talked about it yet since she's too young to really get it this year. When I was a kid, the big present and stockings were from Santa, and then a few smaller things were from Mom & Dad.

I just feel like my kids shouldn't expect us to buy tons of stuff for them. we can buy them stuff any time. so if it is from santa then it is different, special, and magical.

Christmas is usually the one time of year that we can get them several things, so I'd rather them see that from us.

eta - it was how it was done for me growing up. Also in that regards I will do what my parents did. As we got older and started asking for pricier things, they told us the more cost of the gift, the less you get. We knew they had a set limit but never knew how much. I still don't, never thought to ask. So if my boys want an expensive item, they will know that aside from stockings not much else will be under the tree. But that is when they realize Santa isn't real and that we do the gifting.

Oh, I just realized that my family never gave presents from Santa. It was always from my parents. Now I need to rethink my approach. I think you are right that it is more magical if it comes from Santa. I like that. I will do it that way- everything comes from Santa (that is if DH agrees).

My family never did Santa, but DH's does. I still get gifts at the in-laws on Christmas that are from Santa. But they're kinda just mixed in, so random stuff is from Santa and the rest is from family members. We'll probably continue to do it that way with Ellie.

My dh still gets a gift from santa from his parents too... It is usally some sort of joke gift though. I wrap all my kids santa gifts in wrapping paper with santa on it. Then dispose of it. I usually get one or two gifts from us and wrap it in regualar Christmas paper. My dd goes right for the santa paper now. The first thing she does when she gets up is check the cookie tray and if santa took they key. We leave a key next to the cookies and carrots on the porch so he can get in. Then he mails it back to her the next year.

What a cute idea. Think we will be taking that one too..lol

Gifts wise it will be a mixture some from santa and some from us. With the stockings being from Santa. I will also be doing the special wrapping paper. I just hope DH will get into it. Oh and the big ticket item will always be from us. I want the credit..lol

Oh yeah Tanya, stockings are from Santa also.

The big gift was always from Santa. So the year my brother got a game boy the games, accessories that came with it, were all from Santa. So it's not strictly one gift, but the majority isn't from Santa.

We tend to get into the spirit a lot just by decorations and baking. My boys LOVE when the tree comes out because that means the Christmas feeling is there for us. I liked Santa growing up but the glow of lights and the music, that is what did it for me

Same here... i go back and forth on it.

If we do, it will probably just be one gift from Santa...and not necessarily the best or biggest one.

I don't remember ever really believing in Santa, but i remember playing along. In our house no presents (aside from ones that were mailed from family) were put under the tree until we went to bed on Christmas eve. So waking up to all the presents and the three full stockings was magical, i didn't need Santa to make it awesome.

So, if we do Santa...i won't make a big deal out of it.

And i won't be doing Santa pictures at the mall.

we had to play along believing in santa our whole lives. my brother was born when my sister and I were 8 and 11, and then rebecca was born when my brother was 9. so someone has always been young enough that we all have to believe. I like that.

Yeah we never got gifts just from Santa. My mom did things like from the House Mouse and things like that. Our presents also were out way before Christmas Eve(when we opened them) The story was my mom ran into Santa at the store and he gave them to her.

Socks are always given at Christmas time and always from the Dog. Reason being our dog always stole our socks..lol and while we no longer have that dog it has just carried over from being from Diva.

Sara, we don't put any gifts under the tree until Christmas Eve and the boys are in bed.
