Are any of you going to be traveling long distances for the holiday season at all? If you have more than one kid, do you think it's easier to travel with more kids or just the one?

I haven't taken Ellie on a car trip longer than a couple hours since she was 4 months old. When she was 4 months old, we drove about 6 hours for a wedding, but that was pretty easy since I sat in the back with her with bottles, and she was pretty much either eating or sleeping the whole way there and I was able to pump while she slept.

We are driving about 3 hours to see DF's family back home. Not too far of a drive but it's always a bit of a challenge with the little guy. I am hoping it doesn't snow!

We had talked about going to visit my aunt and cousin for Christmas...but decided against it for now. It's a nine hour drive.

We were wanting to go back home for Christmas but decided against it. Cost played a major factor with flying it was going to cost 500+ per ticket then figure in kennel fees for the dog, renting a car and then dealing with family drama on DH's side its just wasn't worth it. And if we drove well 2 kids, a dog, and winter going through mountains and all that just didn't seem wise. Plus that would have been a 30+ hour drive for us.

So we put out if people want to see us they are more then welcome to come here.

I don't blame you ladies for not wanting to deal with longer drives. Especially with the cost of gas! Even though it's gone down a little here, it's still pricey.

Yeah we would have had to take the pickup and that would have cost us as much as the plane tickets round trip. My parents were thinking about coming out here and when they figured it out it was around 1000.00 round trip in gas alone, then figure in everything else. That is just insane.
