Have your LO's been sick often? Ever since my LO's 1st bday, it seems that he has constantly been sick. He has had 3 colds, and each one has turned into an ear infection. Just last week I think he had the flu. I seriously think he has only been well for about a week at a time in between all of these. I'm a sahm so there is no day care, and we go on play dates occasionally, not even every week. I wish I could put him in a bubble, and I'm thinking about avoiding play dates for a while.

Isabelle was like that. She did go to daycare and literally was sick every 3 weeks. Each time she had a throat infection. Eventually I had her toncils removed when she was 2 because I missed so much work, it was crazy. She didn't even get her immunizations because she was always sick, so the 12 months shot she got when she was 3 1/2 . But now she's perfectly fine. Sick only once in a while.
So far Miranda has had a couple of colds only and one time she had bronchitis, but it hasn't been bad at all. I'm surprised, considering that she is in a daycare setting and the kids brings germs home from school. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I just re read it and it souned awful. What I meant to say was that we had her tonsils removed not because I missed too much work, but because she was always sick with throat infections and always on antibiotics and I knew that it wasn't going to get better from my own experience growing up with it. I would just re infect myself and get sick over and over and over again. So to not put her through this we decided the best solution was to remove the tonsils and she has been very healthy since.

*knock on wood* I've never had to take Ellie to the doctor for an illness. I did call once because she got a stomach virus at daycare (and then passed it on to the rest of the family and all our friends ). She has the occasional cold, but she isn't really sick that often. I guess it could be because we're still breastfeeding and I have a lot of immunity built up from being a kindergarten teacher.

We have been very lucky that the only thing Rosie has had was a minor cold shortly after we moved here. I have called the dr once to have her checked out cause I thought she had an ear infection but it turned out to be nothing.
We dont' go out to much, but even all the times me or DH have been sick she has never gotten it.

We have been lucky so far: Sophia got a cold - fever, cough & runny nose once.

I take her to our gyms daycare and she gets exposed to germs there. We also go to a library playgroup and there is always at least one kid that's coughing. I did learn from the moms there that after the group finishes, they take their kids and wash their hands. I don't know if it helps but I do that now, too.

Now that Sophia is 1 yrs old, I think it's good for her to be exposed to germs, so she can built her immunity up before she goes to kindergarten/school. But when we have plans to go somewhere I make sure we are not around sick people/kids so we can all enjoy ourselves- especially if we are planning to go on vacation.

Maybe you could just let him get better for a while so that he gets a chance to get 100% healthy and then start exposing him to the germs again. Hope he gets healthy soon.
