do you have a work related Christmas party to attend? is it formal, casual, buffet, banquet, at the office, in someone's house, etc?

I am so excited for my dh's company party this weekend. My mom is coming up to watch the kids. They booked us all hotel rooms at the Mohegan Sun Casino in CT for Saturday night. They will have dinner and drinks. I haven't been out with dh in over 2 years on date, let alone all night!

We normally do but they're not doing the Christmas parties for DH's work this year. There is usually the adult party at some public location and also a kid's party with Santa. I'm really starting to dislike the new VP because of this.

yeah, we didn't end up with one this year either, they did a lunch at work. boss man hates that he spends a ton of money on food and booze and a dj and everybody comes, eats, stands around for a while, and then leaves lol.

DH has a couple of work parties, but they are optional. One is formal and costs $40/person. One is causal and for the whole family, but costs $25 per person (not sure, but dont think we would pay for kids though). We are not planning to attend either.

DH's holiday party is usually in January. Last year it was at a casino and we had a lot of fun!

The FRG/Unit is having a Christmas Party on Monday. I don't think we are going.

Its very common in the military to have to go and pay for things like Balls even though they make it mandatory for the Soldier or they have to pull duty, or my all time favorite is Mandatory fun days and having to pay to get into the place. Yeah its awesome having to pay to go work..lol

We used to have a huge holiday party at work in the past years. they would do it at the convention center every year. the first few years I was there it was formal with a sit down dinner, and then it became more of a theme party with dressy casual and a buffet. But with the economy being so bad a couple of years ago they cancelled the big party and made it so that each group has their own at some point, which sucks. Oh well. But we do have a Kids holiday party that we just went to 2 weeks ago. It was great and the kids got to have pics with Santa.

My work alternated on site/off site christmas parties. This years was on site so they had a literal all day food fest with chocolate fountains, pastries, burgers, cakes, pies, contests and giveaways. Since this is my first yr with the company, I don't know how the off site parties go, but from what I heard, they're fantastic.
