So, I put Maggie's Santa photo in our Christmas frame a few days ago, and her old one was still there. I couldn't get over the change in her between last year and this year. It sorta hit me out of nowhere. Even more so than Halloween did.

I'm excited about how she'll be with Christmas this year, probably as excited as I was about her having her first Christmas last year. But I do miss that "first" feeling this year. I'm a bit sappy at how quickly this is going by. I'm always sappy around Christmas time, missing a few loved ones anyway. But this year, it just seems to be racing away ahead of me, and I feel like I'm trying so hard, and failing miserably, to keep up.

Anyone else getting a bit sappy about this yet?

Becky - I'm excited for this year because I think he'll have more fun opening presents and playing with them. I think I've been too busy these last couple weeks to even think about it, but I think once I have time to sit down and think about it I'll get sappy about it.

I am really excited for this year. Max had no interest in opening anything last year so I am looking forward to his reaction this year. I am feeling mixed emotions because I know this is probably the last holiday with my Dad. Though I am prepared for his passing the kids are not able to fully understand so emotionally this will be a tough year.

I think she'll be more excited opening gifts. She's certainly shown a lot more interest in them, picking a random one up and running around with it. It makes me miss the magic of being a kid around Christmas!

(I'm feeling a little guilty though, because her sister has tons more than her! DH is an only child so he don't understand the mentality of sibling rivalry and making sure everything is equal between the children.)

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry to hear that too Allison. Never easy seeing it on the horizon...

We had our big family reunion yesterday. Maggie was way overwhelmed by all the people being in one place, and not so focused on opening...totally happy with the post unwrapping access though!

I feel ya Becky Im super sentimental and with every milestone and passing day I get more and more sappy. I actually got teary eyed when I saw Caden's school pictures... Also when we went to go see the holiday lights and I saw the pure enjoyment and happiness on Caden and London's face my heart just melted and my eyes once again got teary.... ahhhhh!!!

Im so sorry Alison
