push kitchen chairs to the counter in order to try and get things off of the counter?

I don't know how to stop her from doing this! Of course, close supervision and keeping dangerous items off the counter/locked up with help, but I am still afraid she will fall while trying to get up on the counter and hurt herself when I am out of the room for a minute.

Any suggestions?

Oh dear. Now that you mention it... it hasn't happened yet, but I can see it happening. I am not sure how to get your LO to stop it though. I am no help. Sorry.

He doesn't try to get things off the counter or climb on them, but he does push the chair up to the counter to watch me cook or do dishes.

I don't have any suggestions either, Tommy climbs on everything! I can't get him to stop either.

Davidson does! He gets into everything! I just either stop him from pushing the chair or I get him from climbing on the chair and sternly say "NO". It seems to be working for us. Just be consistent with it. Had to do the same thing with the dog bowls lol! He would not stop sneaking puppy treats lol!!

LOL Kisty! That is a great pic. LOL

Alisha, can you tie the chair legs to the table legs, so that she can't move them? Just a thought.

Miranda has figured out how to climb on couches, she will also climb on the little plastic chair to get up higher in the kid's room to reach to the top of the play castle. She hasn't done it in the kitchen yet, but she can reach pretty far onto the table as it is and will grab at anything. You have to be so careful with her, because she tends to 'whip' things onto the floor really fast.
She actually fell off the couch yesterday and onto the play castle. Now she has this huge goose egg and bad bruising and scrapes on the back of her head. As cautious as she was when she first started to walk, now she is fearless.

Wyatt has been climbing in the dinning room chairs at the table and also if my 9 year old leaves a stool in the kitchen he climbes on it to get things on the counter..... he also climbs into dads chair at the table and then climbs over to his highchair....

Bishop does this! However he climbs onto our kitchen table. I've had to take the 4 chairs and put them onto the table so he can't get to them and push the bench under it. He's a mean climbing baby machine.
