Just curious since it's our first time we have had a sick baby...He threw up 5 or 6 times last night and twice today, both times right after eating. He doesn't have a fever so I'm thinking there is no reason to go to the dr at this point but wondering what others do.
If it continues tomorrow then I would prolly go in and just try to keep him hydrated in the meantime.
Thanks

Well London just got over a bug like that and she got dehydrated very fast! She refused to drink so I took her in and she had IV fluids. They gave her anti vomitting meds and we were released. Well then the diarrhea started but she was drinking a ton, but she still got dehydrated and I had to take her back in for more IV fluids a day later. I think If he is not drinking and is acting lifeless (doesn't want to walk, won't sit up) then you need to take him in. Do you have a nurses line? or an on call doctor you can speak to?

Also I think with vomitting (even with no fever) the main concern is dehydration and that can happen really fast with little ones.

Thanks...hubby and I were just talking about the dehydration issue. So far he is acting like he feels ok and still drinking plenty. But we will definitely take him in if he stops drinking.

I would probably take him in just to be on the safe side. When I took Juliana in to her 15 month appointment, the doc said she had had an ear infection that healed on its own. I thought it was teething that was making her miserable. Next time she was teething, I took her in to rule out ear infection, and it turned out it was just teething. The point is, they can't tell us what's wrong so I think if in doubt, bring them in at least for peace of mind.

Well we ended up taking him in and they ruled out strep, said it's prolly a viral thing, and we would just have to wait it out.
Better to be on the safe side.
