So - because we're at home, and her interaction with other kids is minimal, Maggie often times appears to observe other kids at places like the park. She has been shy.
At kindermusik this weekend, I expected nothing different. Even told the instructor that I anticipated her being timid and shy...well, holy moly was I wrong. She owned that place like a crazy person...so much so that I was actually pretty embarrassed. She wasn't bad, like hitting or biting or anything, but she totally tried to run wild, wouldn't stay still to save her life, asked to be picked up by everyone there and had a hard time listening.
Result is that I think I'm glad we're giving her more structure through these sessions, and more exposure to other kids...but now I'm worried that she's a little hellion and I'm in big trouble. To make matters worse, I got comments from the other mothers, about how smart, how much work and how independent she was...emphasis on how much work and how independent of course. ugggh. How is it you can both look forward and dread it with every fibre of your heart? The class wasn't full on Saturday, so I'm praying with all my might that there's at least one more child coming next week who is more poorly behaved than mine! ugggh!
