I always laughed when I saw a kid on a leash (before having one myself), now I think it's a clever idea. I am thinking about it, but for now I hold her hand. No leash yet.

No, I don't. The one place where I'd need it the most, shopping, it would actually turn into even more of a headache- she'd probably end up tangled around clothes racks and/or my legs! Otherwise, she's content staying in her stroller (knock on wood!)

Haha, I can see Tommy getting stuck in the racks with one too...lol. He is also content in his stroller at the moment. Like you Celine, I used to think it was kind of funny looking/weird. But when my dd turned 3, she could not be contained in the stroller. So when we went to places like the zoo, aquarium or amusement parks I used one. I got funny looks but I didn't care. My friend lost dd once at sesame place, I went to show dh where we were sitting, my friend obviously wasn't watching her and she disappeared for 5 minutes, it was the worse 5 minutes of my life, she had a leash after that.

I have one, it looks like a monkey back pack and the monkeys tail is the leash, we have used it once when we went to see santa at the mall, right now hes still happy in his stroller but i can see it being useful when he gets a bit older and would rather walk

We haven't used one yet, but I won't say "never." We made it thru 3 airports last week and she was happy in her stroller and holding my hand to walk around. I hope she is always as cooperative as she is now!!

That is exactly what we had and she was able to carry her snacks in it. It's cute.

Absolutely not. I absolutely loathe the idea of leashing my child like a dog. Sarah is either in the Ergo, stroller, cart, or my arms in general.

No way. I'm anti-kidleash. In my head, leashes are for dogs and Boogie is not a dog. We let him walk, carry him, have him in the cart or a stroller.

We haven't yet but think they are great in areas like airports and other crowded places. Gives then the independence to walk but close by for safety. Rosie though is content in the stroller so we will use that as long as possible.

We haven't used one yet either, but in no way would I hesitate. We have a similar one to the photos above, but it's winnie the pooh. I even considered getting her a baby lowjack..lol. It's a sensor that clips on their shoe or belt, and it sends an alarm to a receiver on your keychain if they wander too far...but I still prefer the leash to that. Not only is it cheaper, but won't give innocent bystanders a heart attack.
Maggie has zero interest in wearing it now, so the first time we yank it out will be a battle for sure, BUT, I'd much rather have that than chase her in a crowded place. I ain't as young and fit as I once was, and I'll take all the help I can get! She's going to resist the stroller at some point, and at some point you realize you have to get them walking more and more...and losing her would send me over the edge of sanity for sure.

I've never used one with the older three and don't plan on using one with Noah either. For now he's content to ride in his hiking back pack or the stroller. Otherwise he will hold my hand and at the store he rides in the cart.

I've never used one with my oldest and I haven't used one with London yet, but I definitely don't have an issue with using one if needed.

I used the backpack thing once with my oldest, at a zoo. I wanted to keep him safe but free to explore.
I've never used it since. I wear Bishop and Dane will go in a stroller. Gage can walk.

We haven't used one but there have been several times that I have wished we had one. Kaiden is not content in anything that involves him being strapped in and every trip out is a constant struggle to keep track of him. He also won't hold our hands for more than 5 seconds and won't be carried. Once he decides that he wants down, we either put him down or prepare for a tantrum. A leash would just be much easier for both of us.

I wouldn't use a plain leash cause that would make me feel like I'm walking a dog, but I think the backpacks are cute. Ellie is getting to the point where she wants to walk on her own and if we are going to someplace crowded, I'd feel safer having it.
Kristy, I got lost at Sesame Place when I was a kid!
