I know a lot of ladies are trying to lose weight or get more fit. What do you use to keep yourself motivated? Is anyone using a program to do it or are you just trying to eat better and exercise? I'm trying to motivate myself to start the 30 Day Shred again but I hate exercising by myself.

Motivation has never been a problem for me. Pre-baby, I worked out 5-6 days per week. I love working out and the stress relief it brings.

Now it's more challenging to find the time to workout. I'm working full-time and I feel guilty about taking my daughter to the childcare at the gym after she's been with the nanny all day long. Plus, half the time she refuses to go in the gym daycare. I do a lot of jogging with her in the stroller in the spring and summer but not lately. I do go to kickboxing every Saturday while DH takes her to Gymboree and get a quick workout in on the elliptical we have at home most other days.

I guess that didn't really answer the question but I suppose you could say my motivation comes from thinking about how I will feel after the workout and how I'm doing something good for myself. I also think it's key to find workouts you enjoy (my favorite is kickboxing) because you'll be more likely to stick with it. Also, maybe try to find a friend to workout with.

I find it hard to find the time to work out, I know i would never ever make it to the gym, with an 18 month old and a 3 month old there is just no way. I do have work out dvds, i just got the 30 day shred as well and DH and I plan to start doing it after the kids are in bed (we will start on monday)

I've found it easiest when I put the kids down for rest time in the afternoon. What motivates me is really strange, if I stop working out for a week, I'll wake up in the middle of the night and my hands will be sleeping or even sometimes my feet.

You are working full time, too, that makes it harder for you to work out, I think. I am not working and I motivate myself to go to the gym every day because it's a win-win situation for me and Sophia:
- Sophia gets out of the house and gets to play with other kids (she loves it there)
- I get some quiet time away from Sophia
- I get to do something for myself
and - the exercises I do keeps my backpain down.

Are you a member of a gym? Or maybe you can sign up for a class? It is more fun to work out with others. I work out by myself but there are people around me working out and that helps a lot.

I am trying to eat better. I was eating a bar of chocolate every day. Sometimes more. I stopped eating chocolate 4 days ago. It is HARD!!!! I have a nice chocolate gut that I am trying to get rid off, since we are planning to go to the beach in the summer. I think that's another motivation. I want to look good in my bathing suit.

Sorry for the long rant.

I need to just find a friend or get off my butt and do the workout myself. DH did the 30 Day Shred with me for one workout and then said it was too hard, so he won't do it anymore.

I need to get motivated again, I like to do the 30 day shred and the eliptical machine.
