JYSK sells the loft beds with the steps. In fact the steps double as drawers. Desk usually fits under the loft bed, but it's possible you might be able to rig it to include another bed beneath it. Again, assuming someone is handy and smart about doing that kind of thing safely.

Yeah I've seen some. I'm really picky though haha. I like dark wood and haven't found any of those yet.

If I find something that I love and its such a great price but is light wood I would by it and stain it dark brown. Ive actually done that to beds and dressers that I found at a yard sale.

All our furniture is dark wood too - but my floors are a honey colour, and I have no problem with white washing. I'd probably buy it if I found it and liked it too.

I personally don't like the loft beds at jysk either, but that's probably more because they're made of mdf and they aren't actually wood. You probably would have to build the stairs for a real bunk bed if your heart was stuck on wood.

It's a shame I actually knew exactly how you felt the moment I read that post. Sorry you're feeling frazzled today.

I will have to bookmark that site. I wish they were cheaper though. But you really are getting TWO beds out of it, so it's not bad when you look at it that way.

I dont mind spending the price for something that will be used for a long long time, i hate the hit to the pocket book but its worth it in the end

Yeah I don't really think of ours being that long term. Keira is 6 and I don't want her sharing a room with her sister for that long. She's going to want her own space, which I totally understand. I never had to share a room growing up and I really want my kids to have their own rooms too. We will either have to move though (we only have a 3 bedroom house), or make a bedroom in the basement.
