Do you find they are getting worse the closer to two they get? If you are in public, how do you handle it?

Tommy has been a bear with them the last week. Everytime we are out he freaks out for a balloon or a ball, if he doesn't have it in his possesion throughout the store, he screams and cries.

Not too bad yet. Usually she just makes it hard for me to pick her up by throwing herself down or getting all stiff. She used to pull my hair, but I've put a stop to that. 2 is nothing compared to 3.

Oh dear- 2 is nothing compared to 3? Seriously?

Sophia is constantly testing me to see what my reaction is. I have not left a store yet. But I have carried out a screaming child more than one time - kicking off her shoes - while trying to get through the checkout. And apologizing to everybody around me. I try to keep as cool as possible but in the car I am usually close to tears I have to admit. It's rough having a child with so much gusto.

She has pulled my hair- only mine- she never pulls another childs' hair. Which is good I guess.

I'm genuinely lucky I think. Maggie's vocabulary gives me an out. She gets frustrated and she gets tempted to have herself a good tantrum now and again, but when she starts I'm able to say "use your words", and for some reason that's been helping me derail them. But so far she's still great in public. I don't think we've ever had to leave a store or a restaurant because of a temper tantrum. I know it's inevitable, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this luck sticks with me!

That said, she still has a doozy of a fit once in a while, but they are farther apart than they once were. BUT her real terrorizing is that she kicks or simply won't listen. If I say something once, I have to say it a million times. She's turning it into a game. This is how I'm going to get screwed I think. She has a master plan, and I'm only a pawn dangit!

I gave birth to the female version of Stewie Griffin. I'm telling you just so I have witnesses. LMAO

Most days we are pretty great in public....and usually we do real good if we have Annie's Bunnies on hand. But he is for sure working on learning patience and dealing with not getting what you want right now....and we have some very trying days due to it
