Recipes for babies aged 4-6months. Please feel free to add your own recipes. These recipes can be adapted for older babies by mashing or chopping instead of pureeing.


Apple & Cinnamon
  • Peel, half, core and slice 2 medium apples
    Put into a saucepan with enough water to cover, add a cinnamon stick
    Cook over a low heat until soft (approx 7-8 minutes)

    OR

    Steam over water for same length of time
Remove the cinnamon stick before pureeing

Makes 5 portions

Papaya
  • Cut a medium papaya fruit in half
    Remove all the black seeds
    Scoop out the flesh
    Puree adding a little formula/breast milk if required

Makes 4 portions

Butternut Squash
  • Peel a butternut squash weighing approx 350g/12oz
    Remove the seeds
    Cut the flesh into 1 inch cubes
    Steam or cover with boiling water
    Simmer for approx 15 minutes or until tender
Puree with a little of the cooking liquid

Makes 6 portions

Sweet Potato & Cinnamon
  • 1 sweet potato approx 175g/6 oz)- peeled and cut into chunks
    generous pinch of cinnamon
    A few tblsp of baby milk

Cover the sweet potato chunks with water, bring to the boil and simmer for approx 30 mins
Drain and mash together with the cinnamon and enough baby milk to make the desired consistency

Makes 7 portions

Broccoli & Cauliflower
  • Use 100g/4oz of broccoli & cauliflower combined
    Wash well and cut into small florets
    Boil/steam with 150ml/5fl oz water for approx 10-15 minutes
    Drain but reserve some of the liquid
    Puree until smooth, adding some of the liquid from cooking, or some baby milk

Makes 4 portions
