Hi ladies! Hope everyone is having a great day! Anyways, my question is I am 5'6" and roughly 200 pounds, would it be healthy for me to get pregnant now or should I try to lose a few pounds first? I was pregnant a few months ago, but m/c My doctor didn't say anything about my weight. Lately, now that my husband is asking to try again, I have been feeling huge! I'm just concerned that my weight will be an issue later in pregnancy. Can anyone help me out with this?
you could go ahead and TTC and just watch your weight, maybe not try so much to diet. i don't think i would be concerned about your weight and TTCing - if the dr. didn't seem concerned, then i would just do whatever you feel comfortable with. i am 5'6 and was around 220 when i got PG with my DD, and about 230+ when i was PG with my son 4 years ago.
Really...I think its a personal choice. You have to sit down and think about what you think will work best! I know it frustrates me when people say "lose weight before you get pregnant" but I personally don't think that people who struggle with weight problems or struggles should not be permitted to try and conceive. Go with what your heart is telling you..and then when you get pregnant...demand respect from those around you...including medical professionals!
