i did with both my kiddos. with my son we had a "quiet time" where i would lie down and listen to some classical music and other "light" music. it was very relaxing to me and if he was bouncing around in there - it would settle him down. try it sometime - its wild. and i don't know if it has anything to do with that or not, but damen is such a music lover. and singing to both my kids now really calms them if they are hurt or upset.
with my DD my DH would read a book to my belly. I remember those times and they made great memories. Though we havent read to our son who is due any time now, we do talk to him, and have big sister talk to him as well. We mostly tell him "hurry baby come out we want to hold you"
