I was talking with dh and we were remembering our worst gifts, grant it we've had a few but one sticks out for each of us. Same year from the same people.

It was Christmas last year. I received a vase, a copper color with black crackled on top and a coppper glitter flower on the front. Can you say hideous? Dh got a bit set that was rusted.

I don't have a problem with people not buying gifts if they don't have the money, i never want anyone to feel obligated to buy me gifts and this would be why. The worst of it is, my other 4 sisters got nice wreaths from my brother, guess they only had 4.

Another is one of my other brothers. He is the richest one in the family, has his own business. They buy for us but at the $ store. I'm not say he should buy us extravigant gifts, just don't buy any. Now, don't get me wrong, i've bought stuff there for gifts and receive stuff from there.

Sorry for being so long winded but Christmas is always a mess with our family.

Hm whats my worst gift ever.. That would have to be 3 years ago at my ex husbands grandmothers house for christmas.. his aunt got me this hidious button long sleeve button down top.. it was fleece which was nice.. but THE UGLIEST pattern.. something that a 90 year old woman would wear.. No offense.. but, they look fine in things like that.. it was a style that looked like was around at the begining of time.. a 20 something year old does not wear things like this.... Im sure they didnt know what to buy for me which I understand.. but, they had seen me before and knew what I dressed like.. I just smiled and took the gift and never wore the shirt..

Our kids have gotten second hand stuffed toys (you know how the fur gets matted), dh got cologne that he hated for about 3 yrs from his Mom. Sometimes you really do have wonder what they were thinking.

For our wedding we got a rock! Can anyone top that? I'm sure someone can..post your worst.

Um, that would have to two ######atiels when I didn't have any desire to own birds. I still have them but they are SO annoying. They destroy anything they can reach and they peck me. And they live for 30 years!!

I would have to say a flashlight. I got a flashlight one year from one of my dh's aunts for Christmas. I thought it was kinda a strange gift to give a woman.

I hate it when people do that. My grandma has a habit of buying clothes for me that are too small. Every time I think "Yeah, right..I wish that fit" LOL

Ok this one gift just stands out soooooooooo much ... I don't know if it is cause it is my ex husbands family or what lol ... but for my son's first christmas (he was 9 mos) my ex husbands sister gave him a worn out old teddy bear that had to have been one of her kids .... tthis thing even took batteries and the battery compartment was rusted out from where the previous batteries had leaked! Needless to say teddy went into the trash when we got home lol .... my theroy is if you don't have the money just say so don't do that kind of stuff cause it makes you look soooooooooooo bad .
