Who are our preschoolers in here???


Lucas is my preschooler!

Sara is in daycare/preschool. I'm actually considering pulling her from this daycare (same one both girls have been at since infancy) and putting her in a true preschool next year. I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet.

Owen is....last year! He`s so excited to go into Kindergarten next year.

Evan is in pre-kindergarten (is that the same thing?). Off to full day kindergarten next year!!

I'm so bad about that---I always just say "preschool" for all of it (pre3, pre4, pre5/preK)

Lucas is in pre-K too.

Daniel's 3, but he's not going to preschool. He's homeschooled.

MM- I call it all preschool too, it's all so confusing!

We are thinking of moving Sara next year-- it's a long story I will share in another post!

Michael is one of the youngest in a preschool program (and one of the tallest kids, out of 30 3-5 year olds!). Here the word preschool is used to describe any program that addresses learning at the ages of 3-5.

He attends the preschool affiliated with our elementary school. It is play-based, but there are learning objectives, report cards, parent conferences, and the like...
It is nationally accredited, NAEYC.

OT a bit, but Evan refers to school as , "Pre-K." He doesn't call it school at all. "Mom, do I have Pre-k today?"

Around here, I've noticed that most of the private school programs use preschool and public school uses Pre-K.
