How many school days has your child missed?

Was it due to being sick or other?

Do you have to call the office and report it?

Does the school ever call you?

Does the school have a policy?

Perfect attendance so far! Whoop-Whoop! In 3 years of going to school, she's missed one day.

She was going to miss school the day Jude was born, but it ended up being a snow day! Hehehe!

We have to call in to the office on sick days.

Riley's had 3 absences according to his report card. I think 2 of them he missed when Finn was born. The 3rd one I can't remember. No tardies tho!

We either call in or email the teacher. The school has never called us for attendance but they call once a week for other stuff (recorded message).

Does your school give awards for perfect attendance??

Alex missed 5 days of school this year due to strep throat and a stomach bug simultaneously. We have to call the office for missed days.

The school doesn't call us about absences, but they have called me several times when Alex has spent a lot of the time in the nurses office. Sometimes its just a matter of a pep talk and he's good. For a while it was happening like everyday because of his bathroom issue. Thank goodness his bathroom issue is done now.

They have all had perfect attendance until last week.....Emily and Brady missed one day due to some funky stomach issue. Emily was so irritated because she was going for perfect attendance this year.

There is some policy in place, but I can't remember the exact days a kid can miss until they start sending out threatening letters. Honestly, I think it's sort of BS. It's one thing if you have a student that misses often, but sporadically (so you know it's nothing serious). If you have a kid that is out for a week or more for something serious.....did they really want me to send the kid to school like that??? Since Pre-k is not mandatory here, they will bump a child from the program that has had too many absences. Brady got a warning letter last year, but he was really sick. His teacher told me not to worry about it, but how can you not??? I also got warning letters when I took Emily and Nicholas out of school for vacation a few years ago.
