Does your kiddo have a favorite author yet? Who is it?


Just this week, Alex discovered Dr. Seuss. He LOVES him. He had us read Marvin K Moody 6 times in a row one night. Every book since has been Dr. Seuss. He said he wished Dr. Seuss was still alive to write more books.

It used to be Kate DiCamillo (Tale of Despereaux, Because of Winn Dixie, etc.), but he hasn't read any of her stuff in a couple of years. Right now, he likes Norton Juster (Phantom Tollbooth) and anything classic (Robin Hood, Little House, 20k Leagues, Muskateers, Swiss Family Robinson, etc.)

... and who DOESN'T wish there were more Dr. Seuss? He's always been a fave at our house. We got the board book editions when the boys were babies. They loved it. Did you know there's a new Lorax moving coming out?

Not yet.

We just finished a Junie B. Jones book and she liked it. Her entire school is reading Stuart Little (the principal gives questions on the book in his weekly newsletter), so we read a couple chapters of that book each night.

Not really...but he does enjoy Robert Munsch.
