Ok, I should know this since i'm a btdt mommy, however this surprised me! I just read on WebMD, that herbal teas should be avoided during pregnancy. Have you heard this before, and have any idea why? It didn't say, it was just on the avoid list.

Yup.. I have heard about this. I was actually going to go to a pharmacy and take a look at teas for pregnant women. I am not sure they exist...I will try. I love drinking tea

I read the link you provided and those teas they consider likely safe for pregnancy sound enticing for the benefits they are supposed to have.

It also reminded me that I have another reason now to quit coffee. I keep meaning to switch entirely to decaf green tea but I keep giving in to the coffee pot.

I feel pretty terrible I had some tea tonight with my cousin, and it was echinacea tea. I wasn't even thinking about it, she gave it to me because I have a bad cold and I have laryngitis, and it was only after I was driving home that I was like, uh oh, I don't know if I should have had that. Came home and saw this post and found out that its not considered safe during pregnancy because it can cause uterine contractions. I am not having any cramping at all, so I am hoping I am ok... so worried now

I didn't know that either. I'm not really a tea drinker though.

I've been drinking peppermint, chamomile, and sleepy time. Honestly, I don't think i'm going to stress about it. I just think its because huge studies haven't been done on the safety of those herbs, right? But seriously, how can peppermint tea be any worse for you than going to McDonalds, ya know? lol I think as long as its in moderation, its probably fine.

I'm also drink peppermint and sleepytime tea. I feel ok about the peppermint, but I'm unsure about the sleepytime because I've found opinions saying it's not ok and that it is ok because of the chamomile. I haven't found anything backed up by a study, though.
