There are all of these rumors about things that are unhealthy for a pregnant woman to do...
Examples: eating deli meat/hot dogs, sleeping on your back, standing for long periods of time, drinking/eating caffeine, running on hard pavements, using electric blankets, traveling in the third trimester......etc. etc.

But I have never heard the "dont take hot showers/baths" thing.
I know that you aren't supposed to use electric blankets because they could potentially overheat your body TOO quickly.

I'm still taking my hot showers. Is this bad for baby?

I think the idea is you don't want to increase your body temperature too much. I still take hot baths just not the scalding hot baths where your skin is pink when you get out.

The only bubble baths I enjoy are almost scalding hot, lol, so I've just been sticking with hot showers till after. I haven't heard anything about hot showers being bad...I don't feel like my body temp gets as high as it does in the hot baths.

I had my thyroid out in September, since then i'm ALWAYS freezing (Deep cold)...So I take HOT showers all the time....I try not to stay in too long, and when I start to feel myself getting over heated I get out....I'm not sure if it's safe or not, I don't think that i've ever been told by any of my dr's that I can't take hot showers (just hot tubs)...I also eat deli meat and sleep on my back (at least for now).
