As some of you might know, I've been in search of a home birth midwife in our area. Well I finally found one, and I got to meet her at my first appointment this morning! It went very well! I got to ask her all my questions, and she was very nice and easy going! She adjusted my Due date a few days, but said that she doesn't worry about her patients being "over due" til at leat 42 weeks, at which point she might suggest some natural forms of induction. She is fine delivering breach, and has never preformed an episiotomy(hopes she never has to!), and has very few women tare. I feel quite confident in her care, and I'm so happy to have finally found someone!
We got to hear the heartbeat! It took her a min to find it (I was so worried she wouldn't be able to!), but she did, and it was a nice and strong 148 bpm! I'm so excited!...and relieved!...For some reason, I've had this fear that we were going to get there, and not be able to find the heartbeat, and something would be wrong (I still hadn't announced it on FB yet, because of this fear)...I don't know why, but I'm glad to have that off my shoulders!...It all feels so much more real now!
So my new due date is Sep 6th (it was the 8th)

Great news, Heather! So glad you liked your MW and you are really comfortable with her care. That is important. Love that you got to hear the hb right away and all is well with you and baby! Sounds like you have all your questions and concerns about her practice tendencies answered and they mesh well with your desires in a MW. So glad!!!

That is great news! My midwife is also very nice, I'm really happy with everything shes done so far. Congrats on the heartbeat, that is fantastic. Sounds like everything is going really well for you hun!!

Lol! Yes, I will try! I know I've been a horrible DDC member lately! Honestly though, I've just been really busy!! the middle of Feb, we took a week long trip to FL for my grandma's memorial service, and to visit with my family. and then a couple days after we got back, DH's family came into town for DS's birthday, and then my family came into town (their trips overlapped one day, so they could both be here for his actual b-day), and stayed a week, and ever since they left, I've been dealing with a bad cold! (I just can't seem to kick it!). So anyway...I'll try to post more often!
