At around 12 or so weeks I got really sick with my on going Renal Colic issues and lost my whole dang baby bump, I had lost quite a bit of weight. I am now 16Weeks1 day and ****it I want my bump back!!! Everyone else has one? Why can't i? I don't have another dr.apt until the 9th of April..and my Gender scan is not until the 7th of May!! I am going crazy, Is something wrong with my baby? Is he not growing? I feel like I felt DS kicks by now and I thought I was feeling this one's a week or so ago but now....nothing. Should I be concerned? Everything has been going so well, and now, this. I don't want to worry over nothing and bug my OB, but on the other hand, he does work for me!! and I pay him a hefty price for this little love i have inside me, so i kinda feel like if i need him, he should be there and with a smile on his face, right? What should i do about this, i don't want it to put a damper on my easter, i am at work for another 2 1/2 hrs and then i get to go home and garden and spend time with the kiddos. what should i do? think? ect?
OH sweetie, please don't worry! The presence or not of a "baby bump" has absolutely no indication whatsoever of how baby is doing. None, zero, zilch. If you had one and lost it when you lost weight... hehehe it was probably extra preggie layers and not really a baby bump in the first place. The only way to lose the bump would be to lose what was making the bump - and a complication wouldn't cause that. The material making the bump would need to no longer be present - kwim? And that obviously hasn't happened - it couldn't happen to that extent without you knowing.
Ask your OB if it's bothering you, but I'm quite positive that whether or not you have a bump has no bearing on how baby is! Even losing it - I'm sure the lost weight explains that. (Before I opened this thread and saw the weight loss, I was prepared to say that your "bump" from the first trimester very likely could have been bloating instead. )
Be thankful that your body is in a condition to show you a bump - or not! And like I said, if it's bothering you, then do ask. Better to ask and it be nothing than constantly worry about it. Worry is not good for you OR baby!
Feeling the kicks - at this age that's totally sporadic. You could feel it 3 times a day for 3 days in a row, and then not feel it again for a week. No worries, but ask to keep your sanity!
Much thanks to Alethia for my beautiful siggie and tags!!
Youre alright! They come and go as Ive learned... After I eat I'm big! I'm having the opposite problem right now tho. I usually dont pop until atleast 7 months and here I am at 3 getting a baby belly :\ I'm gonna be a whale by the time this one comes, and I'm scared
My bump is tiny. Very-very tiny.. No worries.. it will come out sooner or later!! I know we all wish for it to come sooner, but I guess it is not our choice. As far as I remember you went through a lot, give your body some time to heal. Hugs!!
I'm with the others, don't worry. Right now your uterus should only be about 1/2 way between your pubic bone and your belly button and doesn't HAVE to be popping out either. I'm still wearing my prepregnancy jeans and my dr. said I should consider myself lucky. I just saw her Friday and everything was fine so try not to worry...probably most of what you had before was just bloat.
