Now that the baby is huge I'm getting heartburn all the time, even when I drink water. Urg.
I can't take tums, they make me nauseous. I'm going to try some Mylanta when I get to the store this weekend. But until then drinking milk and chewing gum are the only things that give me 20 minutes relief.
And today I decided to eat tiny meals exactly two hours apart to see if it helps. So far so good.
What are your tricks, treatments and strategies?

Try papaya enzymes... they sell them at health food stores. They are a chewable tablet and taste pretty good and they work Also a glass of milk tends to help me for a little while.

On 1/31/12 at exactly 16 weeks pregnant Noah came too soon. He was our 7th loss
If you would like to see pictures of my sweet (but tiny) boy they can be viewed at www.caringbridge.org/visit/noahdarrohn they aren't the easiest pictures to look at but I am willing to share them with anyone who would like to see them <3
On August 2, 2012 we lost Sarah at 17 weeks. She was our 8th loss Her pictures can be viewed at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/sarahdarrohn
There is no known explanation for my losses.

I was gonna write a thread along the same lines this morning. I just want to cry all the time with the heartburn, it hurts so bad. If I eat anything now it comes back up, but not enough to throw it up just kinda stays stuck in my throat, water gives me heartburn, ANYTHING really, it's stupid, I wake up with it every morning and even the other night woke up already crying because it acted up in my sleep.

I've had it with all 4 of my pregnancies and I suppose I should be grateful it only started now because with the other 3 it was right from the get go, it seems a lot of the really horrible symptoms have started for me in the 8th month this time.

I took my last Zantac about 20 mins ago, I need to pick some up today.

More ice cream.

Chewing gum used to help me, but unfortunately that gave me headaches. Not sure which was worse.

Prilosec daily, and if it gets bad, I chew a Maalox. Works wonders.

Ugh...heartburn. I had it from the very start with all 3 of my boys. Thankfully this time around I'm just NOW starting to get it a little...but not to the degree you are. Crystal Light seems to trigger it and certain foods but for the most part it's not been too bad and I can still take Tums....I can't drink milk because of my GD but that usually helps me too.

I usually just suffer through it. If it gets really bad I take liquid form of Maalox.

when we're outta tums Chris(DH) tries drinking milk.

a friend of mine suggested Ice Cream or Milk.

a aunt(by marriage) suggested Peppermint gum, candy or decaf tea.

what Chris(DH) suggested to me because i couldn't drink milk is sip on some OJ and surprisingly it worked.

Mine WAS horrible but much better now. I'm taking Zantac daily or twice a day and Rolaids as needed. My doctor ok'd the Rolaids b/c Tums are like sugar pills to me...don't do anything. I also had to quit my orange juice . Not sure if the improvement is med related or if the baby has dropped as I keep getting told, lol.

I take zantac twice a day. It takes a little while to kick in but it works..most of the time. If it isn't working I take a Pepcid Complete.

My pharmacist said that Gaviscon is the #1 thing to take for heart burn while pregnant.

I had a friend who'd eat yogurt every day, especially a few spoonfuls after eating a meal. It seemed to help her a lot.
