So as you know at our last check up Eli had lost 5 oz. We go back next week for some of his vaccines and they are going to check his weight then.
His weight was 16 lbs 9 oz.
Then after 2 weeks he dropped down to 16 lbs 4 oz.
Well today I put him on our home scale and it said only 15 lbs!!! I KNOW its not the same, BUT he had a diaper on!
Wouldn't it at least be up to 17 lbs???
I am freaking out now. I don't want anything to be wrong with my baby

Your scale will never measure the same as your doctors. Has Eli been sick or teething? I'm sure he is fine, Kelli. Hopefully he will have gained his weight back and more at your next appointment, hun.
I totally understand your worry, but I agree, the scale at home is never the same! Ours is always at least a pound off when we weigh Owen. I hope the visit gives you some reassurance everything is fine!

DONT go by your scale hun would it put your mind at ease to see if the nurses would let you bring him in tomorrow just to check his weight? It may put your mind at ease. I am sure he is doing great

Thank you GraysMama for another amazing siggy!
I agree with the other ladies, home scales aren't THAT accurate usually. Do you have Wii Fit? It's usually pretty close. Could you pop into the doctors for a weight check?
Yeah, our home scale always weighs different, too. I bet your Dr would let you come in for a quick weight check. I'm sure he's just fine! Is he crawling yet? If he's become more active, that could be causing it too.
I agree with everyone Your home scale can be so far off. Mine is. That's why it's the only place I weigh myself. I go to the doctor's office and it adds like 50 pounds. Boo. I would run into the doctor's tomorrow or early next week to see if you can get a quick nurses visit to be weighed.
And I would put MONEY on the fact that his nursing and fussiness is a growth spurt. Lots of money
dtto the home scale being wacko
ditto crawling burns calories
does he like avaocdo (sp? ) that is high in good fat and can help with weight gain!
my nurse told me just to call and ask to get him weighted when ever i wanted, i didn't need an appointment just an approximante time so she knew i was coming
ditto don't go by your scale go by the doctors ... each scale weighs different. I know you're worry though ... from being sick Kaylee went from 18lbs to 16lbs 14oz it totally made me cry. If he's happy and learning and thriving - try not to become obessed with the weight gain, each kiddo gains differently, sometimes in spurts and sometimes gradually and it is normal for them to loose some here and there especially as they switch over to food (which has less caolries and fat then bm) and become more active.
((HUGS)) hunnie! You had a rough day with him a little bit ago, so there could be a number of reasons for this, BUT I also know he's a super healthy happy boy and you are VERY aware of his tendencies. I ditto the other ladies and say just try to sneak in a weigh-in at the doc's, even if it's just a quick in and out. My doc lets us do this (I haven't but it's an option), even if she's with a patient. We just tell the receptionist and she takes us to the baby scale and it only takes a sec to weigh him...
Let us know how it goes!

I think there is probably just something wrong with your scale. I can weigh myself 3 times in a row at home and get 3 totally different weights. And I too always weigh like 50 lbs more when I go to the doctor's office then I tell myself I weigh at home. If Eli isn't acting like he is failing then I am sure he is fine. If you want to feel better about it and reassure yourself he is ok I would call and see if you can just bring him in for a weight check.
Thanks for the reassurance girls! I am definitely going to call me Dr. office tomorrow and try to get him weighed. We are going out of town this weekend and it will definitely ease my mind.
I just get so upset because it seems like EVERYONE is passing him up.
Eli's cousin who was born right around Christmas weights almost 2 more pounds than he does! I just feel like everyone is passing him up.
I know it is all in jest, but I want Eli in the "big boy club". I want him to grow fast and be big.

All scales are different. I weighed Wren at a friend's house (I refuse to have a scale) and she was 18 lbs 13 oz or something, and then almost a week later at the DR's office, she was 18 lbs 3 oz or something. It was very different between the two. I am the worst of the worriers, so I completely understand, but try not to give it too much of your energy. Just enjoy your little boy. He is happy and healthy and FINE.
If it makes you feel any better, Kelli, sometimes I am jealous of all you mamas who have smaller babies than mine. Having a big boy has its benefits but I feel like I've missed out on the baby stage.
That said, Eli can be an honourary member of the big boy club. They give out honourary PhDs so I say we can too!
I have tried to weigh Leo at home.. each time I've freaked out!! How did you weigh him? Our hospital scales are like a bucket shape with open ends (if that makes sense) so it brings everything (arms, legs) into the right place to get an accurate weight. Our home scales are just flat and it's a balancing act lol.
Hope that made sense, reading back it doesn't!!
